Technically he didn't kill Alan Scott he just didn't let him be saved by moving the lantern. It's not like Dr Manhattan atomized Alan Scott.

(Now I’m being annoying for the sake of the joke 🤣) Is inaction an action in itself? Like Batman Begins: “I won’t kill you but I don’t have to save you.” In any case, Manhattan was messing/manipulating something so that means at least some culpability. 😆 (Just having fun here because Manhattan is such an unemotional but fun character to read)

Wow. At 1:46, it's like he is talking directly to DC for rewriting his world. That's a great bit of dialogue. Psycho Pirate has become one of the most interesting characters in DC simply because of how much he knows. Incredible.

It's very telling that when you recount the history of the DC Multiverse you give Crisis on Infinite Earths, Infinite Crisis, and Final Crisis so much more attention than Flashpoint, Doomsday Clock, DNM, and DNDM which also changed the Omniverse in DC. Because, in the grand scheme of things those new reboots are so unpopular/underwhelming that nobody cares. At this point, DC reboots its universe so often that even characters within it who have 4th wall awareness of the reboots don't really care about the recent ones.

DNM was widely popular. You still have people talking about the Batman Who Laughs and Red Death. Also, DNM also brought into light the entire dark multiverse and the forge with the idea that things need to be a certain way in order to be stable. Flashpoint was also very popular and very important as well. They keep bringing Thomas Wayne back because of how popular he is. I will give you doomsday clock though. That one doesn't live up to the others.

Crisis 1 - No more Multiverse - Main Characters think its all one Universe Crisis 2 - Return of the Multiverse - Main Characters STILL think its all one Universe Crisis 3 - Multiverse still exists - Main Characters now know the Multiverse Exists Interlude - Flash Point - Barry Allen Almost messed up the entire multiverse Crisis? 4? - Dr. Manhatten uses Barrys mess up as a way to rewrite details of the Multiverse Crisis 5 - Dark Knights Metal and Perpetua and Wonder Woman becomes a god Crisis 6 - This current Crisis Hopefully I didnt miss one :D

That new 52/dcyou Earth 2 series was fire. It's too bad those specific earth 2 characters get pretty much ignored now. Alan Scott being the guardian of the green and a lantern - was amazing.

It's a concept call The Omniverse where you've got multiple Multiverses I know it's hard to wrap your head around but imagine a hundred multiverses all of which have an E2 and some of them have a CoiE but others don't simply due to the laws of probability, someone like Extract could leave her multiverse and travel to a new multiverse where things are both much better & slightly worse at the same time. You know what I mean like a place you love doesn't exist but pollution is a thing of the past, minorities never experience racism but.......THE PURGE is a thing.

As much as I didn’t care for Doomsday Clock, it plays a signings part in the Dark Metal event, so if DC ignores one and look at it as an out-of-continuity storyline, wouldn’t/shouldn’t they ignore the other, which by account is in -continuity? Or is this a case where they cherry-pick parts that works for the story, which in turn, puts them back in the perpetual cycle of having to rework their universe because the long term continuity starts to fall apart? 🤔

So I have a side note question. I've been thinking about this for a while. So Barry Allen can travel between universes by vibrating to different frequencies. Has it even been addressed that he wouldn't have to just vibrate to that particular frequency in order to travel, he would have to continuously vibrate the entire time he wants to stay? Because if these alternate universes vibrate at different frequencies, if he stopped, he would immediately pop back to his own universe.

I'd assume that his body acclimates to that frequency the same as your body acclimates to floating in water.

@@moosec6782 fair point. Although I would love too see it addressed in a story. I think it would be cool to have him discussing with someone how he is able to travel between universes. And him mentioning how he has to maintain his concentration and keep up the vibration constantly while he's in the alternate universe.

You know... I don't mind the idea of a continual Crisis that can happen in the background without interupting regular series. It will be when it starts interrupting with the main universe that I start casting side-eyes. And then, it will depend on frequency and quantity of issues when they do decide to dip into current runs.

You have post Infinite Crisis Earth 2 and a post Flashpoint aka New 52 Earth 2, those r not same Earth 2's as well. SO there r at least 3 Earth 2's. The New 52 Earth 2 Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman were unalived by Darkseid army. Jay Garrick and Alan Scott r waaaay younger as well, the latter power work diff as well. Plus Thoman Wayne of that Earth was alive as well, he was a Batman for a bit as well. According 2 the Death Metal event they DO member thing from BEFORE 1st crisis. There were ordinary ppl in the Infinite Frontier talking aboot the red sky and shadow creatures. Earth 2 Cameron Chase 1st appeared in these comics though.

I don't know for sure cause this is a lot of retcons hitting each other with rewrites the writers were not aware they were making, I approve of the removal of Doomsday clock ( DC can't act like they originally wrote the Watchman series its confusing and greedy it's just always been part of DC). Rob tried what I can establish is the Golden age or the next decade apart from issue one of DC comics is where Psycho Pirate comes from; he tricked Roy Harper to be a catalyst for releasing misery in the chains that is Darkseid's embodiment at the time restraining the captured heroes right in that spot.

i do not know bout you guys , but honestly i am not feeling this infinite frontier" which is post rebirth " and i must admit rebirth was the best thing to come out of detective comics in a long time , i mean every titled comic in rebirth was rich with eventful stories except shazam (for me it ust was not it ) , fingers crossed , i hope the story gets better , but Dark crisis is loooooooooooooooking pretty good , i was not expecting it to , but mehn i am impressed @comics explained
