Killing his father, cat & friends aren't mere minor inconveniences. 1• killing his father is the ultimate thing a basic terror would do. 2• killing their cat (sweetheart) is evilness out if bound, as bad as making your wife/fiancee/girlfriend into a coma/disabled, which is worser than doing it to yourself. 3• poisoning his friends should get him suspected as the criminals that poisoned everyone elses, unless thanos admit it he was doing it, but that would still get him abandoned by many people through many bad rumors such as "David was a Broom star that brought misfortunes everywhere else he go to" especially if they knew thanos is with david, but I guess not since the those Superheroes would be more anxious about thanos than david himself since they didn't do anything For it (currently).

Well, he knows there’s nothing he can do to Thanos, but he also knows that Thanos isn’t going to kill him. He grew up with Thanos too, so it’s not like it’s a new evil that came into his life once he was older. At this point it makes sense thar he‘s just despondent and passionless about Thanos, because he‘s just kinda like bad luck personified to him that strikes consistently on the same day each year and the only thing he can do is brace for it and accept it.

At first I thought it was a pretty funny premise, Thanos is just that petty, but then you realize it's about holding on and fighting even if you're dealt unfortunate blows in life. Thanos says F you but David says F you right back.

Thanos here's a metaphor for the shit that happens in your life that you have no control over. I think it adds to the casuality of it all. The fact that on David's birthday, SOMEHOW, all the superheroes on Earth are too busy to help him. We even see that on the single day he was able to escape Thanos, was when all the heroes had to fight him on Earth, meaning that some big event happens outside of his life. Whether it be fighting Magneto, or stopping Hydra, or coralling Mister Sinister, something happens that puts them all on a busy schedule, leaving him wide open for Thanos to screw over. Kinda fucked up when you think about it.

@@Ihavenohandle.... 1 He'd have to do it on his birthday. 2 He'd have to get the hero before Thanos appears. 3 He'd have to convince a hero to stop their heroic work to stay the day with him until Thanos appears. 4 He'd have to be lucky to get all of the above to go smoothly and that doesn't even mention thanos probably keeps tabs on him so he could literally make his life even worse by not doing anything, by thanos's inaction he literally makes all heroes immediately not trust him and his pleas.

Honestly, this guy has had a bigger impact in foiling Thanos than most. Think of all the time Thanos has had to waste visiting and thinking about him over the years. If the guy was smart, he could totally turn this into his own kind of super power. Fake being a bag guy and get himself close to some bad people, so that when Thanos comes by he ruins those bad people and all their plans. Just gotta balance the bad stuff he does in the interim with all the bad people and plans ruined by Thanos' intervention.

I mean, he of all people would be pretty primed for really committing to the bit. He has nothing left to lose that he hasn't already, and more than enough to be spiteful for to stop empathizing with the lesser plights of other. If he committed to the effort as a meaning to his life, he could endure to genuinely become a crook while holding true to his direction as a double agent.

I think he just uses David as a venting mechanism, every year heroes from Earth and other parts of the universe ruin his plans in some capacity, so much like we humans use sports, movies, or video games to vent our issues, HE USES DAVID. It gives an edorphin rush knowing that no matter how many times he fails in his mission, his life will never be as miserable as the person who dreads the day of his birth every year, constantly in agony over the very idea that his existence is cursed by a being that is beyond powerful. Sucks to be him. Happy Birthday David!
