I have one question to ask. If Tamils claim to be a tolerant people, why is that Brahmin Tamil is looked down upon ? Why are Brahmins made to feel scared to use this dialect while a Tamil from Coimbatore, Madurai, Tirunelveli is not made to feel bad to speak Tamil with a regional twist? This shows that Tamils don't know zilch about their past and that there is a lot of unfounded hatred against Brahmins. The Brahmins have always helped the Shudras (this word is not a swear word. Shudra is found in the Purusha Suktha of the Rig Veda). Yes, some Brahman folks were bad. But that does not warrant hasty generalizations. The worst caste atrocities are perpetrated by the Vanniyars, the Thevars and other folks; not by Brahmins. Just because the British colonized us, should we seek revenge by colonizing Britain? The reverse discrimination that rules the roost in TN is a shameful trend. Reservations are the greatest barrier to Hindu unity. It pits a Hindu from one jaati against another Hindu from another jaati.That is exactly what the Brits wanted. Our politicians are there to divide and rule over us in the name of affirmative action. Reservations plague the soceity. If India nees to develop, we must put an end to reservations. Let everyone write competitive exams, if a person from the SC community makes it through, the tuition fees can be waived by way of fellowships. Every Ram, Shyam and Subbayya need not become a doctor, an engineer or a lawyer. See the quality of "reserved" professionals--they suck. They can't string a grammatically correct sentence in the language in which they obtained the degree. I don't want to say this, but White Christians understand the value of Brahmins more than the Indian govt and have rightly given them the Nobel prize. The country should be run by people who have excelled in life. So what if they happen to be people from one community ? Aren't Jews the biggest bankers and the greatest scientists? People who have become doctors and engineers by way of reservations will NOT make it big in life because they have not worked hard to get there. They will be the most corrupt people because good work ethics is the fruit of hard work. Let Hindus put an end to Brahmin bashing and reservations. So many Brahmins have sacrificed their lives so that this country remains Hindu. Please please let us come together. Hindu unity is the need of the hour.

that's the intermediate caste TAMILS for you. As Tamil writer, Jeyamohan, puts it "these people mere jealous, all this "oh we are anti-caste, anti-brahminism" is all just a sham to conceal their hate. BRAHMINS and DALITS have been made SCAPEGOATS in their ploy. In TN DALITS ARE KILLED EVERY OTHER DAY. These TAMIL OBC are BARBAIRIAN THUGS. Brahmins have gone way ahead of them soon Dalits will follow. Becuase these castes historically had no land so that pushed them to achieve in academia. Dalits now that education has been opened to them are acheieving WAY AHEAD of Tamil OBCs. They are scared, OBC caste leaders are openly calling out to kill dalits exposing their fear. Evn the present day Tamil novelists, writers are mostly BRAHMINS and Dalits. Becuas rthey have stuff they have the nack. These intemediate stuck dumbos are only suitable for their "kozhi saaru" (chicken curry). Plus, Dalit women are occupying Tamil academia space now and they are shining and how. These Tamil OBC minds are still keeping their women in house as mere house wifes. You can't even name one TAMIL OBC WOMEN from literary circle. Dalit novelists like Banun are shining examples. "

@ mojorisin08 You are very correct in what you say. India has the largest "affirmative action" in place in the world but is the product good? You do not have to be from IIT or IIM. The Project Director of the Mangalyaan project is an engineer from Coimbatore Engineering college. Merit should matter, not caste. Dravidian party politicians have screwed up that state. When I went from Delhi to do my M.D in Chennai, I realized that the standards were abysmal. There were many political appointees in that hospital which did not have even basic things like a "ketostix" (a paper strip that quickly detects ketones in the urine). First thing would be to select people on the basis of merit. Today, Tamil Nadu has lost out on the race due to abysmal professional standards, be it in Engineering or Medicine. This of course makes more than 80% of Engineers unemployable in the MNCs. The TN policians have been clamoring for reservation even in private sector which is not going to happen. In Private sector, merit counts since they have to show results.

mojorisin08 Easy for privileged forward caste people to say that... Irony of People who are privileged is that, they do not realise how privileged they are... For a min, stop being selfish and imagine being the son of a sewage cleaner... HOW ON EARTH DO YOU HAVE A CHANCE UNLESS THE GOVT. INTERFERES AND GIVES YOU ONE? even if your as smart as the forward casts son who's already a teacher's son, your social conditioning and environment doesn't give you the same opportunities... Eg. He may only have lesser study hours because he has to work, an empty tummy making it Difficult to study Etc That's the reason we have a govt. By the people and of the people... So that selfish people like you don't get to dictate who gets access to Higher education and who stays where they are... If the son of a poor farmer gets a 65% and still gets the opportunity to go to a college, it's a pretty great system... And it's the need of the moment... So that his son, gets a head start, he's already the son of a graduate... Remember, son of a sewage cleaner matters as much as the son of a teacher, and only if all the sons and daughters are given a FAIR shot, will the whole country develop... remember a few individuals exceeding in a country is not as beneficial or not nearly as important as most of the people being uplifted... Yes there Will be collateral damage, but deal with it dude... ! If you came from a Leniage of ancestors who had "NO ACCESS" to education, you wouldn't be talking like this... For a country to develop, we need to develop as citizens as a whole, uplift those that society suppressed... That includes women empowerment, empowerment of lower castes and minority upliftment... That can happen only with reservations, BECAUSE, they have had generations of ancestors without education or exposure as compared to brahmins who already have an edge over them (because no one denied education to them) So please be more patriotic and think of the development of the whole nation rather than a sect of people alone... !! So untill caste systems are abolished in every nuke and corner, THERE WILL BE RESERVATIONS.... Remember INDIA has become as strong as it is BECAUSE OF RESERVATIONS FOR THE WEAK, NOT DESPITE IT...

If 'Kulakkalvi' proposed by Rajaji had-been implemented a barber's son would have remained a barber. Only when the deprived and downtrodden are uplifted for a period of time through reservations a good literate society will be formed. With the help of education a barbers son will become a businessman running a chain of salloons with the new terminology hairstylist

India is still a third world (a euphemism for "third rate") country because talent and merit are still not recognized. What Mahanobalis did to swamy is shameful. BTW, this guy Mahanobalis was a room mate of the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan in London where the latter had gone to collaborate with Hardy. Needless to say M was much in awe of Ramanujan.

I as a Tamilian, was born in a small town in Tamil Nadu, grew up in Delhi, live in US today married to a girl from Kerala. That makes all the difference to the way you view the world. Do me a favor. Take off your blinkers and travel outside your state. When you go outside India, your only identity is as an Indian. As i already said, nobody would give a rat's a$$ if you are a tamilian. Nobody knows what that means (unless you are in singapore, Malaysia or Srilanka).

Sorry Bro, Here (in General Europe) Tamil and Tamil Community is well known ... ! and I have lots of reasons why we should not encourage Su.Swamy: 1. He Doesn't Care about the lives lost all these years at SL, infact his speech here seems he is ignorant and more inhuman when he said "who cares about world war death"!... 2. His Propaganda of uniting Hindu may be his wish and correct as a Hindu, but he is not respecting other religious practices in India... 3. Believe it or not, His hands are there in the assassination of Rajiv Gandhi, Either he part of it, or he knew it before it happens... (Refer old reports of journalist and retired judges statements who handled the case) 4. His Behavior is absolutely pathetic in social medias... he is well know for calling Eli's Porkis, and even couple of days back he tweeted and called Arnab Gowswami as "Supari", This is absolutely intolerable... Last but not least, why you boast here in comment section about your self? If you Grew up in Delhi, and Living in US , marry a malayali, and all Doesn't make you Superior than any citizen who lives inside Tamilnadu for all his life... As a Counter, I'm Asking you, You Do me a Favor, There are about 5 Lakh Tamils Living in US and Canada, and they have a very strong Association and it head quarters is there in NY, visit there once you will get to know!!! For your Information, Canadian Tamils Made Tamil as Official language for one of their canton last month, and International Tamil Association's case file was taken and verdict given by United Nations last month which Says "LTTE is no more Terrorist Organisation and it already ordered to remove its ban on US, Canada, And all European countries,! It is only India who have this Ban still now, for Political reasons... If you Don't know any Facts, I would Advise you to keep your butt locked in Social media...

Dude If you are a true brahmin you’ll not hate anyone-hatred is dangerous(non of the Vedic texts teach hatred)....whether it’s Su.Swamy or RaGa or any one.First realize that and then go about declaring yourself as brahmin or superman.
