IMO, chigiri had the most relatable back story. Injured myself in High school sports and the fear of losing who you once were is utterly terrifying. This episode hit hard for me. Glad to see he broke from his chains. Looking forward to more episodes and reactions to go along with them.

I've been waiting for the day for my guy Chigiri to have his moment to shine. This episode gave him so much justice and the panels from the manga have been animated perfectly. Chigiri is my favorite character right along with Nagi. I can't wait to see more of him 😊

Chigiri’s story is amazing. I ran track in highschool and played soccer so my “weapon” was also speed and the way he talks about his love for soccer is also the same it was for me. I tore my hamstring my junior year and had issues doing pt but when I finally got back to 110% it was the best feeling ever getting back to sprinting again. I ended up running track d1 as well so all the pt whilst being rather scary is worth it and don’t give up on your dreams because you’ll always regret it. So reading the manga I was waiting in anticipation for this episode

This episode is one of the ones that made me love Blue Lock. A lot of sports anime do the "Don't give up! It's not over yet!" thing to motivate people, but I think anyone who has played a sport and felt that overwhelming feeling of hopelessness knows that those words just feel empty in the moment. Now there's nothing wrong with this trope. I like that gathering of determination in the face of despair. However, Blue Lock says fuck that as the thing that motivates Chigiri to finally start running again isn't Isagi's words of encouragement, but the insult of him telling Chigiri to get the fuck out of his way and pushing him aside. In the long run, words of encouragement and positivity are often very good. However, when it comes to spontaneous actions, there is hardly a better motivator than being pissed off, which is certainly one of the things that caused to Chigiri to take a huge swig of fuck-it-hol™
