Happy birthday Nigel, what a nice find formur bd if the stats r right less than 200,000 were made qnd to find one that was more than likly to have been used during war time, (as if made untill 47 it was 2 yrs after the end of the war) you more than likely have one that was used during the war! 33:35 min. we have copper in our cables, a scrap dealer will be happy about it, you get money for copper here .

The difference between the Bullet you were holding & the 303 rounds is , the modern type are Rimless 7-62 & the 303 type have a rim for extraction , sorry that the Military Background coming out of me .... the rimless aree level for better ejetion in the Modern Rifles such as the SLR L1A1 & L2A1 & any other weapon that fires Rimless Rounds ....

How long was that chain? As there 66 feet to a chain and 80 chains to a mile, so not so much to aim at to get a miles worth.

NIGEL NIGEL NIGEL - They aren’t blacksmith tongs, they are nose leading tongs for a bull - I know this because I had a set and didn’t know what they were until I saw the same one in the museum in the Conniston, in the Lake District

@12.40. Could that handle be off a stirrup pump? My Dad had a circa 1940's fire extinguisher. The pump handle looked exactly like that...exactly like it.
