The constant hand shuffling was what got me. I saw plenty of toxic players back in the day that did that, and I don't know why that was such a common trait between them around here.

This actually gives me PTSD, i had one guy at locals back in highschool that was like this. My friend and i would go to locals every weekend back during pre edison format it was like GX 5Ds era. This kid was a major doucher, always showed up to locals being a terrible sport and trash talking. Was fun to beat him though lowkey because he would have a giant meltdown.

The equivalent to the player in Duel Links who spams Chara quotes but immediately goes silent when you counter.

Back in 2011-2012 When I played competitively there were several people acted just like this.

I used to be too competitive at Yu-Gi-Oh to where I was a player people didn't wanna duel cause of the negativity but I changed for the better...

I was 14 playing around 2003-2004. I was new to locals. I'd only played with basically one friend until that. The Internet was still somewhat limited back then. A judge warned me for stalling, because I was having to read most of my opponent's cards. I'm pretty sure my opponent was a regular. It's moments like that where I'm not surprised people are intimidated into joining the YGO community.

I felt like hand traps was a way to save the game from opponents doing crazy combos and killing you on turn one, but then to get hand trapped by the opponent gives them the power to knock you out turn one. Therfore, it's the same vicious cycle.

I was in the finals at my locals back in 2010, guy had the lead on life points and was stalling the last 5 minutes by using ROTA to search his deck, he called a judge on me saying I was stalling, I told judge he has been searching his deck since 5 minute time was called, he was told to pick a target and my opponent said he had no targets in deck. I was given the win.

Reminds me of the time, this was back in the mid 00's, I was a regular in Yugioh. Went to a regional in Long Beach, CA, took my Ocean deck with me. Won a xouple rounds, but it was the first round that I had a judge called on me. Had Level Limit Area B out, Legendary Ocean, then three Bugroth's with a Mama Bear. So three hits to the face, ran my bear into their monster for damage, got out something else that took their monster with it, call of the haunted for the double hit Mermaid for game. Dude got pissed and called judge over.

I had a person that was similar to this. They would take forever ask all these questions that where obvious like the video but would also ask other questions. They would ask what deck you where playing, what cards in hand, or even ask if you had anything that could stop there plays. If you didn't respond or told them a lie they would would call a judge. They would also call a judge if you activated more then one effect or summon more then one creature. Mind you this is the beginning of the pendulums. They would also try and convince everyone at tournaments that they had the most op deck ever made and could never be defeated (it was something like yugi's deck or yami's deck). I recently played themwhen trying to get back into yugioh and they tried to tear up one of my cards because they said it was obviously a fake because fusion summon could only be done with polymerization and creatures couldn't be turned into spells. I was playing crystal beasts with the new pre con deck

Magic players do this while playing a stall deck while trying to gaslight you into believing there's nothing you can do cuz they run 61 cards instead of 60 so you might as well forfeit.

I'm an MTG player, and i used to have this bad habit of snapping when counting mana. Everyone hated me since i couldn't count to save my life and continuously kept recounting and snapping

Some players or pros are nice to let you know how cards they have and ask once how many you have. When I played we fan them so you can see them without showing what they are, even when I laid them down in none play area so I don't confuse them from the play area. When I take other player card because of the card that states I take there because of a action then I face in a way not to confuse with my cards. He acting like a jerk not realizing it his turn and he needs start the begin of the game. He can't all sudden say judge he delaying the game when it was his turned.
