Living Well With TJ yes she doesn't mean blindness literally, but that doesn't necessarily make it a metaphor. It really doesn't matter though because Blanche is not supposed to be as literate as Dorothy, it's perfectly in line with the character if she fails in constructing a valid metaphor.

@Living Well With TJ No, it is just a hyperbole. A metaphor is used in comparisons. "He is a shining star" is a metaphor. "He shined so brightly that he blinded me" is a hyperbole.

Blanche: Rose , a metaphor is a phrase you say to mean something else like when I say men are blinded by my beauty they aren't really blinded they get their eyesight back in a day or two 😋🤣
