Friends of Bart and Krista Halderson testified Wednesday morning that the version of events Chandler Halderson provided to police about what his parents were doing would have been completely out of character for the people they have known for decades.

The Prosecutor didn't offer a plea. When a Prosecutor has a case this good for a crime of this magnitude they are VERY unlikely to offer a plea. As for Chandler not then just pleading Guilty, well, with no plea he knows that a guilty verdict will result in a mandatory life sentence, so he might as well go to trial and hope the prosecutors screw up somewhere sand he can catch them out on a technicality.

@@evoluna3056 if he pleaded not guilty he is entitled to a jury trial and someone has to represent him as he is also entitled to an attorney. These are his rights under US law. His defense team is probably court appointed and they are just there to make sure he gets a fair trial so he can’t get off on a technicality after the fact and maybe try to get him the best sentence possible, idk if Wisconsin has the death penalty.

@@evoluna3056 it’s Chandler’s constitutional right to choose to go to trial if he wishes. The defense consisted of court appointed public defenders, so it was their duty to provide a legal defense for their client. Considering they didn’t have much to work with, they did an adequate job. So it’s actually you who is the dumb one. Have a nice day.

plenty examples of parents that had children that thrived and one that went off the rails. Think is more about bad seed than bad parenting. Don't think for a minute this kid started lying after he graduated. Sure they tried to reign that in and he begrudged it because his brother did not have the same treatment. What came up at trial was only what the attorneys asked but the uncle, brother, neighbors probably have more to say....

Brady the reporter is somewhat a nice dresser but it looks like he buys his clothes at Baby Gap! That jacket looked to snug and short, the other day he had on red slacks it just didnt look right. Brady you are a handsome lad but stick to solid colors change up the color of your shirts and tie. The darker color suits make you look taller and leaner plus its Winter. Save the plaids and radiant colors for Spring or Summer. Nonetheless you are doing a wonderful job reporting on this horrible tragedy of this couple who seem like they were very good parents and Mitchell reflects that.
