Happening in Court:
Mitchell Halderson Defendant's Brother
CHARGES:
Victim Bart Halderson:
COUNT 1: First-degree Intentional Homicide
COUNT 2: False Info on Kidnapped or Missing Persons
COUNT 3: Mutilating a corpse
COUNT 4: Hiding a Corpse
Victim Krista Halderson:
COUNT 5: First-degree Intentional Homicide
COUNT 6: False Info on Kidnapped or Missing Persons
COUNT 7: Mutilating a corpse
COUNT 8: Hiding a Corpse
A Wisconsin man stands trial for allegedly murdering and dismembering his parents without remorse, and providing false information on their disappearances. Chandler Michael Halderson, 23, faces charges including first-degree intentional homicide. Remains from his father Bart Halderson, 50, and mother Krista Halderson, 53, were found days apart, authorities said.
Defendant Halderson reported his parents missing July 7th, claiming they left their home in the Village of Windsor days before on the 1st. He told WISC-TV at the time that they were going to the village of White Lake, Wisconsin.
“My last message I got from them, they were going to White Lake for the Fourth of July,” he told “There are some festivities that go around there. Better drink prices at the bars. Stuff like that.”
He said that to his knowledge, they were then going to their cabin in Langlade County.
“Along the way, they could’ve stopped many places,” he said. “I wouldn’t know all of them.”
He was allegedly just feeding everyone lies.
Bart’s torso was found in rural Dane County, while remains from Krista were found in Sauk County and property run by the Department of Natural Resources, according to court documents obtained by The Wisconsin State Journal.
Their son had been searching Google for terms like “Body found Wisconsin,” “Woman’s body found in Wisconsin,” “Wisconsin dismembered body found,” and “Dead body found in Wisconsin,” authorities said. Investigators suggested Chandler Halderson used to a visit to property belonging to the partner of his girlfriend’s mother as cover to hide his father’s torso nearby. He had shot Bart Halderson at least once before dismembering him, officials said.
According to investigators, Halderson said after his arrest that “you don’t know the whole story,” and that he “didn’t feel bad about what I did.”

That's why the people won't primary Judge John Holden in his 2022 re-election. He's the Gold Standard for Justice in America from the Bench. Lawyers know they need to bring their game to Judge Holden's courtroom and that he will always be fair and prudent. I enjoyed everything about this case - the science, the DA, the quantity, quality and skill of delivery. I'm baffled by the quirkiness of both the sons in this case though. In the Joel Guy case there were many similarilarities, the baby of the family, spoiled, geeky and unsuccessful but no quirkiness in the DNA of the Guy siblings. I hope scientists can find an answer. This is such a tragic set of facts for everyone.

@@johnhonker437 that's not entirely true, it's at the discretion of the judge whether they rise or not. Look at Judge Borrowski in the Edgecomb trial. He tells everyone to remain seated and silent every time the jury came in. He seemed to be in a rush all the time, and probably having everyone stand for the jury prolonged things (plus he was a grumpy jerk). But it's entirely the judges call whether to rise for the jury or not. Judge Schroeder in the Rittenhouse trial didn't rise for the jury, although the gallery did every time the jury came in. He only rose for the jury after the verdict and after he thanked the jury for their service. Each judge is different, this judge is very respectful.

It's possible the parents were overbearing and authoritarian. We as a society should start examining what created the child, instead of judging the child. My family was/is very disfunctional due to my father's personality disorder/mental illness, yet it's me who gets judged by society for the way my life turned out, nobody ever judges my parents for their role.. there's only one case where we are finally judging the parents, and that's the Ethan Crumbly case out of Michigan.

So his lies about school and pretend jobs totally unraveled and his father was supposedly going to talk about it one on one with him and that's when he killed him. Such a well spoken young man with such a tragic devastating life experience. My heart goes out to him, but I hope he knows his parents would be very proud of his grounded and informative testimony. Keep your head held high Mitchell.

I watched this trial live and it broke my heart..How could someone do this to their mom and dad..😥 Mitchell I'm praying for you and your family..It's coming up on the anniversary of this horrific event..which has to be devastating to think about. Your mom and dad seemed to be very special people and loved by so many. Wishing you the best that life has to offer, and know your mom and dad are so proud of you! 🙏

‘D as in Davidson’ is exactly the way his dad said it when on the phone to the School office. 💔

Heartbreaking absolutely heartbreaking for the son. Brother butchering his parents and now he is orphaned. Engaged and no parents to attend his wedding 😢 and no parents on his 25th Birthday he just had. Can’t seem to even look at his brother, hope he lives his life to the fullest in his parents memory. Hoping, as a man, he still reaches out for help that will be needed continuously to deal with this unimaginable horror. His own lil’ brother caused him irreparable damage to live with forever. Heart goes out to him and his fiancé and friends. Hope they support him when the trial and all the media disappears. RIP Mom and Dad. 💔💔😢

I'm hoping Uncle Brett will look out for him, although he was seriously upset on the stand. It will always be hard when they get together.

You have to feel for him he was getting on with his life and then suddenly he’s thrown into a Classical Roman type tragedy family intrigue all of it down to an inadequate sibling.

Yes, and by all accounts his life was going very well indeed up to that point. Murder creates many more victims than the people killed.

@@glamdolly30 110%!!! My grandfather was tortured, robbed and murdered when I was 6 years old. I never got to meet him. Also, once he was murdered, my father obviously was enraged and became an alcoholic bc of that which hurt us all. These killers effect the entire course of the family of the person they killed. Therefore, the Death Penalty is definitely necessary!!!!!

@@tinydancer867 I agree with you that the death penalty should be in all 50 states. My childhood best friend was brutally murd€r€d at 14 years old in Texas. The kill€r and 1 accomplice were found and convicted. The kill€r was charged with capital murd€r and was placed on d€ath row for nearly 10 years. As a result of how horrific this tragedy was her mother became a severe alcoholic and was so beside herself that she was almost always out of her mind. My friends siblings have their struggles as well. Unfortunately her mother passed away due to severe alcoholism and dru€ addiction. However she did live to see the date of the kill€r be put to his d€ath. When tragedies like this occur it impacts generations down the line. I don't know if her family will ever be okay again. I miss my best childhood friend terribly and will see her again one day in heaven. Until we meet again, I love you J.W. ❤😢💔
