These two are already multi millionaires because of their acting careers, but not many know about their investing. They are STACKED. I find it hilarious that Ashton almost always plays idiots in his movies, yet in real life he's fucking smart as hell.

@@lonelyone More than anything it can be about the circles you hang out in. People that look for investments hear about them first because they are looking. Then there are people that like to invest in startups, let people know they like to help startups, and have money, things will specifically be brought to them. Only more recently have there been shifts that made it easier for anyone to invest in startups.

Bitcoin was and is somewhat sensible as there is a demand for untraceable currency, it gets its value from that and being first to market. Uber and AirBnB are just bullshit ideas which are basically "hey, how about we go into this market and subvert all existing regulatrions". Neither should ever have got going and at least there are crackdowns taking place around the world now. Neither have a future.

@@dairallan yeah, Uber has mostly disappeared in the EU (still going strong in the UK apparently) after having received a lot of pushback for exactly those reasons; mot sure about Airbnb, I haven’t tried to use one in 4 years

I know Ashton went to college to discover a cure for the disease his brother suffers from (dropped out to model). To hear he was on the ground floor of three big things many people are into now is impressive. He secured him and his family's future.

Many, many years ago, I thought it would be a great idea if there was some kind of service that was like a taxi, but was just someone picking you up in their own car and giving you a lift. Though this was a little before smartphones, so I don't think the logistics would have worked back then.
