Just a correction. The Puma with weird name in South Africa was a failure, the new Puma Luminari with the orange painting shown at the end of the video is actually from Brazil, the car was seen sometimes being tested at Interlagos circuit.

Here in Brazil few of us known this history, thanks Donut. Its so hard to be a Brazilian automaker, when the ban was still on my grandpa started his own manufacture: SELVAGEM. Until this day, we build buggys, we are located in Natal, Rio grande do norte, its like a postal card, the tourism at the dunes. The Buggys at start used the same VW air cooled base, but now we have we own chassis and uses the vw 1.4l engine. In one of his storys, my grandpa telled me that even arabic shakes wanted to export the buggys, in the auge was a real fever, they are the best buggys ever made hahaha

You can still see Pumas over here in Brazil, they're a really awesome car, and they're not the only local manufacturers that crashed when the ban was lifted, well, it is unfortunate, I wish they would succeed in the new environment, we deserve a good local manufacturer.

dude, you gotta thank god every day for the lift of bans!! why? because believe it or not, we still have this bans in Iran (actually we had the bans since 42 years ago, but since 2017 we got a new ban law which doesn't let any car to import in our country) so why you should be happy? because all the story I told you about resulted in having 3 major domestic car manufacturers, who make old, low powered, low security and functunality cars with a very high price tag. basically they got a monopoly, and with government become involved with them, they are now as powerful as ever, and wont answer to nobody! SO, be happy, and don't even think about not having a good domestic car manufacturer. Use brazilian made foreign cars!

One of the most powerful versions of the puma was the PUMA GTB, with a 4.0 liter straight six chevy engine (borrowed from the Opala). It was a monster. I almost bought one scrapped to restore.

How awesome it is to see a Brazilian story told by Nolan Sykes lol! I have just one correction: the Puma brand is alive, but not properly back at kickin' just yet. They're developing some new stuff focused on racing. Cheers from Brazil!

Brasil had many crazy cars back then. Miura, Bianco, Gurgel (they made an electric car in the 80's). Puma also had one model with a chevy six cylinder engine. Great to see part of our automotive history here.
