I worked at a hotel in Vegas during Monster Cup. I have dealt with celebrities and even Presidents. I have never been so scared and starstruck when I dealt with MC. I have idolized him my whole life. I was leaving work a few days later walking through the casino, he literally stopped me and remembered my name. Most memorable time I have ever had with a true hero!

I dealt with it coming from MC too. His parents live up the freeway from me in SoCal. I know his family on a first name basis and have gotten to know MC the same way. His dad builds hot rods and used to run into them a lot at local car shows. Being a young kid I was absolutely dumbfounded. He’s such a solid dude.

I remember when he did his book signing at our local Walmart and he remembered me by first name. I was like 10 or so years old at that point in time.

Whats really great is ive heard probably 50-100 ppl with similar storys about him being a genuine wholesome HERO lol .. I dont think ive ever heard a fan or anyone say he has treated them poorly in which makes him the best legend in my eyes##1

Mcgrath is a total stud and just the best human. I remember a local race in Utah in 2008 where he raced all day and won everything and then stayed after the race for like 4 hours to make sure everyone had a chance to meet him, get an autograph, or even snap a picture. Best rider of all time in my opinion. Took moto to a whole new level and into the mainstream. He set up paths for countless riders after him. Jeremy, thanks for all you did for my favorite sport. Fan for life!

It's been said a million times, I'm sure, but Jeremy is such a respectable guy. As big of a star that he is in our sport, he doesn't speak to anyone differently, he just treats everyone so well. I love that he is still the same Jeremy from the 90s. I met him in 1996 at the Denver SX, got his autograph and just remember being starstruck, but also pleasantly surprised; he was just so incredibly kind. I was about 14 yrs old. It was such a memorable moment to meet such a huge figure in the sport and discovering how absolutely nice he was 🙏🏻

It’s funny how life works, Jeremy’s time with Suzuki wasn’t as successful as he deserved, but for me the 1997 season was a turning point in the sport, until then nobody ever said no to Honda, what for me was mind blowing, I am originally from Brazil and Honda there was so dominant that almost killed the interest in the sport, I always thought that Jeremy would retire as a red rider so I was losing the interest in the sport here, then out of the blue he turned the table and did the Suzuki deal. That reminded me when Senna in 1993 raced with an inferior car and still won several races finishing in second the championship, and he said something that I live by until this day “Every year we have a winner but not every year we have a Champion”. Jeremy is a true champion in life, always down to earth and really cool!

Boston SAM Same, 1998 YZ250 tricked out, nothing stock on the bike except the fuel tank & fuel cap. Titanium subframe, Emig Racing clamps, Talon hubs, Excel rims & spokes, DSP carbon fiber skid plate & powervalve cover, extensive crank & cylinder work, works # plate vented, suspension front/rear is done (again)…full Pro Circuit exhaust (tuned to motor); so I agree with you, I like the 1998 YZ250! Enjoy riding! I’m doing the same saving it for my son til he can enjoy it too. I’m 52 and ride regularly still. Take care!

When I was 18 racing 125 expert I remember seeing him at a big race at Sandhill Ranch hanging with the other 80 cc kids and I believe his dad had a box van with his name painted on the side which at the time was strictly for the best riders. Every time I met MC, whether at the track or at Chaparral, he was always very cool and friendly. I even emulated him in the late 90's, wearing his Fox and No Fear Chaparral gear, which I still have, putting the same decals on my YZ250's (to be fair though, I was on Yamahas before he switched over from Suzuki, lol) and he's almost a year younger than me! And I was riding and racing in SoCal at the time! I was also bleaching my hair white blond! 🤦🏻‍♂️ What a pathetic fanboy I was. Other riders at Glen Helen or Elsinore were probably laughing at me 😅 Oh well 🤷🏻‍♂️ I wrote the review for "Steel Roots 2" in Racer X and have one of his jerseys signed and framed. One thing he did in '94 was get a horrible start in Houston and had to come thru the pack to zap Emig for the lead
