Oh Deer Lord, I’ve seen a dozen play throughs of this, and I just now realized that Alan’s line of “dark shades could never save the day” is not just a reference to the Dark Presence and its minions, but also him literally wearing shades because he had started dealing with alcoholism and anger issues as he got famous! To quote another KZfaqr…SAM LAKE YOU HACK 😂

I still love how Alan Wake goes into all this "ready", "having figured out" how dark place works and then this happens

The song Herald of Darkness is _amazing_ but in terms of set pieces, I like "Take Control" and the Ashtray Maze from Control a bit more. Then again, Remedy and Poets of the Fall is like From Software. Even their least good stuff are still amazing and incredible.

I love that it's a stage musical too. I've been a stagehand on them before. You can hear whats called "pick ups" when they want you to move around. They play when the curtians close and the stagehands are changing the set. "pick ups" are (Pick it up!!!! then it goes to the refrain and starts at the top of the loop if you aren't ready. If they got the ok they continue the song)

In the 1990's video games had live action cutscenes like Alan Wake 2. They feel cheap. AW 2 digital release only. Most of the game playing a character that isn't Alan. Those 2 things i really didn't like. But live action cutscenes never going to buy this game for me it feels like a giant step backwards. My childhood was in the 1990's were games had terrible live action cutscenes i hope there not coming back into style. Even the modern warfare rebooted series is doing it to.
