Excellent craftsmanship by this man and aexellent video makers,keep up your work to educating people on this lost art of simplicity of life. After seeing this video we are planning to go for thatched house, but the this kind of skilled person are not available in this part of Imdia

A modern tatched roof where the roof itself is closed off and isolated is just as firesafe as a normal roof. In this case the tatch is basically ornamental, since the roof itself is already closed of to the elements. You really want a closed roof anyway, since the Rc value of an old open tatched roof is about 1.5 and you really at least want an Rc value of 6 or higher.
