Paper Mario is a role-playing video game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64 game console. It was first released in Japan on August 11, 2000, in North America on February 4, 2001, and in Europe and Australia on October 5, 2001. Paper Mario was re-released for Nintendo's Wii Virtual Console in July 2007 as well as Wii U Virtual Console in 2015.

I hold paper mario 64 in a very special place in my heart. It was one that me and my mom played over and over 100% completion every time. My mom passed away but i still replay it every year in honor of her.

New game is teased, people wanna get it. Color Splash, I would wanna get it. (But seriously, I now realize that it would be too much of my time taken up.)

+Dead Pool No way, Super Paper Mario is great! Sure, the gameplay is different, but there's nothing actually wrong with it. Plus, it still has the same charm as the first two games, and it arguably even has the best story. (In that aspect, it's at least on par with The Thousand-Year Door.) Sticker Star is trash, for sure, but not SPM.

***** Most be trolling. Fine Bros tried to trademark a word and genre of video that they didn't even create to build some business scheme on-top of it that would require others to go through them to do any similar video. Jirard just copyrighted the name of his series which he pioneered. People are still free to make videos of them completing a game and reviewing it, they just shouldn't call themselves "The Completionist" while doing so, because that would be misleading, which is what copyrighting is supposed to be used for.

one of the best things about this game is how good it STILL looks, they compensated well for the color and draw distance issues the n64 had by making everything on closed sets. it's just a really stellar presentation.

Colton Patterson A lot of people did hate Super Paper Mario (and some still do). However, at the very least it had a narrative that was kind of interesting and some memorable characters. Sticker Star didn't even try to be a Paper Mario game in other sense other than the aesthetic.

Skylanders actually dropped Spyro from the name and no longer gets new models made of him with every game iteration. If it wernt for the netflix original show, you wouldnt even know Spyro was part of it anymore.

I loved Paper Mario as a kid! My Dad, Grandad, and cousins went to Washington DC one summer in an RV we used to have. We went to an RV park, and we ended up making friends with the RV next to us. At this age, I fell in love with Mario games and the Wii, cause they were what brought me into the gaming world. So, when our new friends had a Wii with Paper Mario, I wouldn't stop playing. Sweet memories...

I never had a GameCube or a wii with GameCube support that could play these first 2 paper Marios , yet I’m attached to them more than any of the other mario games, I only ever watched play throughs of it when I was younger and I fell in love with both of them. the story, atmosphere, puzzles and combat all were thoroughly enjoyed by me even though I never even played them. THATS how good these games are

At this point I don't know if it'll live up to the hype. Kinda like Ghostbusters a lot of people have move to other things it'll be something not necessarily bad, but different. And people like to associate different to bad these days.

Man I think he should've talked more about Peach's playable segments. They give a good amount of plot and character development, especially for Peach and Bowser who tend to just be kidnapper and "kidnappee", also the different bosses. And I just think those segments pretty much have the most entertaining dialogue in the game

Isn't that what Jirard is talking about? The stories being told (which is actually a kirby story) then Bowser sort of inserts himself into it? He does mention that it's a difference universe, and the Star Sages(?) art style is definitely reminiscent of Kirby.

Surprised you didn't talk more about the story/chapter structure. Specifically, the segments where you play as Peach between chapters. I always found those sections very charming, and noteworthy enough to be included in this video.

2d sprite-based games from the 32-bit era tend to age beautifully compared to their polygonal counterparts. Just look at Symphony of the Night as another example.
