Since people wont take the time read or look, here is a statement directly from their site: I attended church and volunteered off-and-on at ihopkc as a musician between 2010-2013 and have never hidden that fact. I have never persecuted or discriminated against anyone, including the LGBTQ community, and I personally do not support or donate to any organization that does. I renounce discriminatory and oppressive views and I stand behind my statement that I personally, and my company JHS Pedals, treats every person with honor, dignity, and respect - regardless of their beliefs, race, creed, or sexual orientation. I am here to dialogue with our fans, customers, artists, and critics about JHS Pedals, not about ihopkc or their 2000+ staff/members/leaders…I have not personally been involved at ihopkc for about 3 years now. I personally and professionally value and respect the rights of all people and I am unaffiliated with any organization that does not conduct themselves in the same manner.

I thought Josh was a quite cool dude. Then I found out about that extremist christian stuff JHS seems (or seemed) to be affiliated with. Josh personally distances himself from that and the anti-LGTBQ practices of IHOP now. I'm not hating on Josh but it seems that a bitter taste lingers on within the community.
@ronnieeagleandthealchemist23336 жыл бұрын
Excuse me Anonymous, what's with the assumptive notion of his views as extreme? That alone is a tell on your part, but instead of just saying it, why don't you get specific as to why his views are extreme because there is not a major religion in the world that condones various sexual acts associated with many lifestyles, hetero or otherwise; though most accept the person as someone that can be redeemed. That's hardly extreme, but is a religious point of view.

Mick and Dan, what a great guest. Please make more videos like this one. When the video started, I only wanted an Angry Charlie. When the video was over, I wanted an Angry Charlie, a VCR, the Kilt, the Milk Man. When I read the comments and saw the hysteria, I wanted to sell most of my gear and just give Josh the money. I get standing up against bigotry, but accusing people of supporting something that they openly and actively disavow isn’t justice. Josh, don’t let them get you down, man.

JHS makes awesome stuff. One of my absolute favorite pedals I have is the Sweet Tea. I always loved the sound of a distortion with an overdrive before it and the Sweet Tea gives you that in one box. Some of the best gain tones I've ever had have come from that pedal.

Dan and Mick,thanx 4 bringing Josh on,JHS makes great pedals!I own Angry Charlie,and JHS modded Soul Food.Very happy with their service,never had a problem, Josh mentioned John Cusack,from Cusackmusic.com,I own a Cusack Kingsnake60watt,great amps and pedals,B.T.W, I had some questions about biasing and such, so I called the number for Cusack music and ended up talking to John Cusack, (not the actor),he answered all my questions, and then ended up giving me a history of how he got into the amp building and pedal building business and apologized for taking up so much of my time, which I didn't mind a bit! so just want to give appreciation to all those designers out there who are so dedicated to keeping those of us with terminal G.A.S.,fulfilled!

I agree. I'm one of the most liberal people I know, lived in Portland OR my whole life, most of my friends/family are the same and I'm very sensitive toward issues relating to marginalized groups (be it race, gender whatever). But even so, having read the full scope of Josh's history, anyone saying he holds hate in his heart or is prejudice in any way is being willfully disingenuous and misleading. Purposefully misrepresenting the facts in order to smear someone is, as you mentioned, very unfortunate. I don't know why there is such ugly bitterness in some corners of the pedal world but it's depressing that people enjoy bullying/smearing others like that. And JHS pedals are great! I just ordered the Space Commander tonight based on Andy's video and this. The Morning Glory is of course the best overdrive of all time (we all agree? good!) also own Dispatch Master, Ghost Echoes and Haunting Mids. Some of my favorite effects are made by JHS, but I'll also admit a few have been misses for me (Twin Twelve for example)

Dan & Mick, I love your channel, always a must see. Populated my board many times based upon your reviews, and I'm wanting to grab a few more pedals covered in recent episodes. Your expertise and explanations feed my needs better than any advertisement, I always look for your review befor deciding to make a purchase. Don't let the trolls bring you down, I think it is absurd to have any sort of politics or morals issues cloud this great channel. I cast my vote to recommend you delete the whole lot of garbage commenters and replies. There is no place for that here. JHS fuzz was my first pedal purchase, amazing pedal and I still have it. I tuned in with great anticipation today to learn about Josh and his story, I was not disappointed. He is great, and the show was excellent. *Standing ovation*. Keep up the excellent work. Fan always, John P.S. I cant decide if I should save for a Gig Rig, or more of these excellent pedals... I definitely want one, timing is the issue. Maybe a show on the Gig Rig for us fence sitters? I'm guessing you could show us how the fast swapping of pedal order can drastically change the sound of our rig. Maybe pick a handful of common pedals and switch up the order and wow us with what we are missing...

@@ThatPedalShow Please also be attuned to religious bigotry (which is quite common in Western culture today against Christians) as well. I don't know what this guy's faith is, but it is his own and should be respected and protected regardless of what SJW's would have you believe. I think that was low hanging fruit in the whole JHS hate controversy that cropped up a couple of years ago and persists today. Hi, Dan and Mick! I love watching your show even though I don't even play the guitar! I use pedals for my Rhodes Electric Piano and analog synths. I love learning about all things audio. I have never met Josh and live well over 1000 miles from his business in Kansas City, but I have visited both his former church and the 24 hour place of prayer called the International House of Prayer which many commentators here and throughout the internet say are hate-filled and bigoted. Nothing could be further from the truth. The people I met there were very concerned about people in all walks of life. I visited the I.H.O.P at 3 a.m. was surprised that they were even praying for drug addicts and prostitutes at that hour. Are they "hating" those people by praying that they be brought out of such self-destructive lifestyles? How would the music world be different if Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and a host of others overcame their addictions and lived? Yes, they might believe that LGBT lifestyle is wrong and probably are praying that people be brought out of the LGBT lifestyle and into a transformative relationship with their creator through Jesus Christ. This is offensive to some, but is definitely not hate. Thanks for being brave enough to interview Josh. I look forward to many more great shows in the future, including another one with him. He was funny and I liked hearing the stories behind the products.
