That street where you bought the t shirts has no electrical or telephone wires. It looks very neat that way. Wish that all streets in the Philippines are like that.

I love Vigan. Reminds me of Cuba before it's downturn. Vigan is in the northern part of the Philippines which gets less tourists. Most western tourists want to go to beaches, which the north is not famous for.

The Philippinos make it a great country -i live in Vancouver B.C Canada and have only ever met the nicest Philippinos .

My favorite hotel in Vigan was Cordillera Inn where i used to stay when on vacation when i was still working in Iloilo City.

When I was a kid, it was the Vigan tapa with fried eggs i wanted for breakfast. The last restaurant on the right before the parking lot in the end has tapa.

My wife and I were there in Vigan last july, we stayed in that same exact hotel. Vigan is really a nice place to visit.

History: You will know it is an old city/ municipal in the Philippines when you see a plaza (or town square) in between a cathedral and the capitol/ municipal government buildings. It was designed naturally to keep the balance and separate power between the church and the states. It was designed during the Spanish era to make sure that the church won't influence the government's works and vice versa, however, the two power must be nearby to make sure that the ruling of the government will always be based with the spiritual guidance of the Church. Before, when the Spaniards introduced Christianity (conquered the Philippines) the church or the friers always intervenes in the policy and rules of the state and because of this, the Filipino leaders and officials make it sure that it will never ever happen again by putting a town square or a plaza in between both powers.❤ Enjoy your stay in our beloved Philippines.🇵🇭👍🙏

You gave justice in showcasing this city. I was there for four years back then with my college. We used to ride in "kalesa" carriage with my college mates who are residents of that place and we roamed around the city I considered my second home. The North is beautiful white sandy beaches, rolling hills, mountain views from Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Regions, Cagayan Valley paddy fields, corn fields, Baguio , Cordillera Mountains, Spring wates falls and Lakes, Nueva Vizcaya From Eastern and Western Luzon Newly built high ways up hills and to the top etc. There are many nice places where people are not talking about it. Better Roads and Transportation than in the South of Philippines

Finally a different type of town.. Well I just put this beauty on my bucket list when I retire in the Phils. I will pile on with your drone footage being great at the end. Great job Michael! -=Efrain=-

They do have a black sand beach named Mindoro Beach. Compared to most other Philippines cities, it seems like you can more easily and safely walk around the city. Very cool place!

My wife is from Vigan and she belongs to a prominent family with ties to the governor of vigan and her family has a restaurant called tessies that's been in Vigan over 70 years and she has connections everywhere in vigan

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Wow. Just saw the drone work at the end, drifting through the peaceful streets to a soothing melody. I could put that on loop and drift off to sleep ! If you have an extended , (5 or 10 minute version of that) I know it would be a hit. Just magical. the pub looked like an ideal place to hang out with friends, as you did. Lots of cool shops to explore. thank you for taking us along !

You should check out the boracay of the north in Pagudpod Ilocos Norte, Saud beach its not as crowded as boracay with same crystal clear waters, calm waves relaxing and white sands but not as white as boracay but still breathtaking and the sunset spots are one of the best in PH on a clear weather.

Spain is also surprisingly affordable housing, Everyone just left, No money there, So younger generations just left, Now all old people, I tell you Spanish Architecture speaks loudly to me, Love the old Rock buildings, God Bless

Tom Cruise stayed in one of the house in Vigan while filming Born on the fourth of July in Ilocos. You should continue travelling North up to Laoag and Pagudpud the nature will get better and better. That island is Batanes one of the most beautiful island.

Vigan is capital of Ilocos Sur. It is also the seat of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia. After the Diocese of Manila was elevated to Archdiocese, they had to decentralize so they created the Diocese of Nueva Segovia, Diocese of Nueva Caceres in Naga and Diocese of Cebu in Cebu. All 3 are now archdioceses.

You should buy a lot of business cards with all your social media links on it. Then hand them out as you go. That will grow your following real fast. 😉

So very different from any PH cities that I have seen! Incredibly intriguing. I actually hope it does not get discovered and ruined by overtourism like many formerly outstanding places.

Watching your walk around the city streets are kept in great shape and I saw overall everything is clean, very surprising and a well deserved shoutout to the city government..😊

YOu are right about the Earthquake. The July 2022 magnitude 7 earthquake damaged almost every old building there. I'm from that small city by the way. Beautiful tiny city... the only thing I can't endure is the summer heat. specially in March to July. It will cook you from the inside out.

A comparable city here in Florida (but on a slightly smaller scale) would be St Augustine. Oldest city in the U.S. founded by Spain in 1565 and a place I've been visiting most of my life. Lots of history similar to Vigan and funny enough the Filipina Pea visited it here last year in August. Anyway, thanks for the video. Enjoyed it 👍

Wow! Haven't finished watching yet, but yes, that church - 19:30 - was badly damaged in the recent strong earthquake that happened just 2 years ago i think. In fact, so many structures there were damaged. But i'm glad they were able to patch things up and everything seems to be back to normal now. :)

Its Batanes Mike the last island in the northern part of the Philippines. It has 3 islands I think. Yes the waves are huge, the houses there are made of stone because they got typhoon a lot. They say it's the Switzerland of the Philippines. You should go back one day and go further north. A lot of vloggers been to Batanes

I'm in Guatemala City right now and similar building structures. Supposedly Antigua is the best...but I like the city. I'm off to Merida, Mexico in April.

If you love Vigan, then you must visit Bataan. It's got great history and historical architecture preserved, stay in Las Casas Filipinas De Azucar!

Batanes Province is an island province loated in the NOTHERN MOST PART of the Philippines. It's a mountainous province and is like the "little New Zealand" of the Philippinea becuse of its terrain. And YES, the plane fare to Batanes is the most expensive and limited - more so during the "rainy season". GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY TRAVELING. AROUND THE PHILIPPINES. GOD BLESS!!

That is a beautiful place! My parents just came back home from vacation there. Originally from there. That’s where we go shopping whenever we visit. I think that’s the most well kept Spanish History in The Philippines. Salute to the Ilocanos!
