Gary somberly listens as Mel gives the viewers a play-by-play re-creation of the awful accident. Every word of her re-enactment, second-by-second, nudges the sadness i'm feeling to moisten my eyes. Then, around digital number (aka, digi) 12 min. : 15 sec., Gary begins to share his "view" of the incident. At digi 12:30, Gary says he was holding onto the beam for dear life . . . and then his giggles begin. WoW, i so needed that comic relief about this serious could-have-been-much-worse accident. Realizing that Mel out-paced Tragic Injury, i was able to appreciate Gary's nervous-relief giggles. Hearing his laughter allowed me to join him in my own roaring laughter. Gary and i, thankful that Mel floated (she says that she was in slow motion) to settle upon the collapsed scaffolding, were able to release hearty chuckling cheers. So THANK-FULL that Mel earned her flying wings as she unexpectedly followed gravity within that sudden flash of air. Adam of CA.

So very glad your fall did not create more of an injury. Guardian angel was with you! I have seen where people will block the scaffolding feet on a drop off edge to prevent this very type of thing from happening, 2x4 and a couple of screws to secure it, to help prevent a skip or jump of the scaffolding- wheeled or no wheels attached.hmmm. Sounds like a good invention idea for the diy-ers… scaffold wheel block…

I totally get it! Years ago I was wallpaper ing my mother in laws kitchen. I was using a wooden kitchen chair to climb onto the countertop and I fell off the countertop onto the chair and onto the floor! It not only knocked the wind out of me but my arm booty check and the back of my thigh turned red, then purple, then black in a matter of hours, just from a fall off a countertop. However got the kitchen done that day regardless 😁

I am so glad you are okay, hunny. I know exactly what you mean by falling in slow motion, that is so trippy! When I fell and broke my wrist last Thanksgiving, I experienced that slow motion sensation. Soak in epson salt if you can, even a 20 min soak can work wonders. Listen to Gary, hunny, don't push yourself. I love you, you are so lucky, all things considered. Love, MoM

Oh, Mel! Thank goodness you’re OK and your fall wasn’t worse! What a precarious position! I know you guys are on this adventure together, but it’s OK to ask for help. You help others all the time! You rarely ask for help. Please consider asking for help on these difficult and dangerous parts of the project. I enjoy watching you. You’re doing amazing work.

I know he hates that you got hurt. 😭 That end of the video was hard to watch. You need to do a short, I think that's what they're called, of you falling in slow motion and then do it in fast motion with you bouncing back up. Now that I know you are ok, that would be fun to watch, lol.

Within this past year I've had a couple of falls and there no fun. Now I use a walking stick. Mel falls are no fun and pray for your healing. The sad thing they catchup with you when you get older so please be careful. Love y'all

You can put the outriggers on one side only to keep it from tipping over and all four if you can in that area.

So sorry to hear about your fall Mel. Last time I feel from a ladder I broke a hip and wrist. You are lucky this time. Try to figure out a way to be safe next time. I watching the scaffolding video a lost my breath for a minute when I saw the scaffolding collapsing underneath Mel. I was praying her was hurt too badly. Girl! I swear we are kindred spirits lol but you win this weekend! We rented a 50ft man lift to get a huge oak cut off the house this weekend. Hubs in lift, me backseat driving from the ground. I had to grab a limb to shift it out of the way of lift so he could come down, it decided to whoop my a$$ lol. It won. I have a huge bruise on my knee now. Rest up, cold packs, OTC anti-inflammatory. Turtle won, not the rabbit! ❤ hope you heal soon. Hope we both heal soon😂

I knew you were going to be bruised bad.I’m 77 years old and did a slide down the wall standing on a small rug following rug to a sitting position onto my butt fall and I had a big bruise.Your body wrapped around everything it hit ,that you fell on from a height .All I did was repeat OMG,GOD was with you.Praying for fast healing Mel.I know Gary couldn’t have done a thing to stop what was happening and like you said,he was lucky not to have been kicked off with the ladder.I will say a prayer for GOD to keep you both safe,you both are a hard working couple❤❤❤❤❤🙏🏻

I fell at Home Depot, doing the set up of a brand new store had the harness on stepped into the racks and a rack split, and I fell in between the two racks. It hurt and the harness didn’t stop me because of the way I fell so sometimes harnesses do not work.
