If you ride a Motorcycle in India then it might have been made by an Indian-origin brand, that's because 3 Indian brands lead in the whole world when It comes to selling motorcycles
and this very fact raises a very big question! and that is how Indian 2-wheeler brands are world leaders when Indian car brands are still struggling to retain their position in the top 20 list
The reason behind the Indian 2-wheeler brand's success is INDO-JAPANESE collaborations, and in this video, we are going to learn how these tie-ups made these brands so strong

Gave us the very first Superbike of the world "CB 750 inline-4". 5. Made very first car parts with superior precision. And people who know this are a fan of Honda . IDK why people say us HONDA FANBOYS . Bro admit it that Honda is a Legend . Now people will say that Yamaha is even older than Honda , but they worked on making musical instruments and other factory works . They made their bikes after Honda did .

Fresh examples are Tata's and Mahindra's, which have not taken too much help from established brands but were able to pull off their products with extensive R&D and best in class materials and safety. However, we should always be thankful for these joint ventures who helped these Indian companies enormously.

As for the ending question, I don't think indian manufacturers would be this large if they hadn't tied with the japanese or if the economy wasn't closed off in the 80s and the japanese were allowed to do business independently because the need of japanese in the 50s and indians in 80s were similar(as in they needed cheap, economical and reliable bikes). And Japanese manufacturers grew from the commuter segment in the first place, so it wouldn't have been hard for them to rule india as well like the rest of the world. The only way indian manufacturers could possibly compete with them is through more efficient vehicles than them(that would have been really hard since they would have start from scratch) or focus on a segment that wasn't covered by the japanese(like royal enfield). Though I am very fond japanese machines from the likes of honda and yamaha, It's amazing how indian companies have achieved new heights even after their split and are now competing internationally.

You forgot to mention about the key ingredient in the success for splendor It dates back to the 50s and 60s with the introduction of Honda Super Cub, which used the Honda HA05E engine The same engine design was used to make the CD100(HA10E) and it has been used in millions of motorcycles since then Even the 2023 Splendor uses the same design but with EFI system
