@@ThatsCoolDude or when your item is worth (according to your inventory) 3000 septim, but the most you can selll it for is 1500, and the merchant only has 1000. I buy stuff out of spite sometimes just for that reason. If I can offload a huge warhammer with its stupid weight and get full price, I get really good prices, and if it means having to buy a few things I need that I can "flip" to make even more money, I literally never walk away with less than I had. (buy leather to give them more money then sell the item at full price, take the leather, make armor, enchant it, sell it later when they have money again or to someone else). I get rid of my heavy item, I also make items (and level up), improve items, (and level up) and sell items (and level up).....and make fat cash in the process. My biggest problem is not being able to sell my stuff fast enough. Now I have wardrobes in the game just like in real life.

Few issues with your methods: -Don't sell iron daggers ,enchant them with banish ,this way they become worth around 1000 gold. -Ebony daggers ,are not good ,craft ebony bows instead ,and improve them ,because they will be worth around 3000 gold per bow for 4 ebony ingots ,you can buy those ingots then. -The best enchant for weapons when it comes to gold is banish ,you use it and weapon gains 1000 gold in worth. And few tips for people who want to be rich from smithing. -When it comes to orcish gear ,only armor is worth it ,weapons are stupidly cheap. -Never create gloves or boots, only helmets and chest pieces are worth it ,but it also depends on the material. -Deadric gear is not worth creating , it takes too much effort ,ebony is the best.

11:11 Man, same. Always saw enchanting and alchemy as fodder, or a useless chore since its always ignored it until i needed my endgame gear, upon which i farmed it all in one go and it felt like a bother, cumbersome and stupid, same goes for Blacksmithing But recently i began a character, a pure Mage really focused on alchemy and enchanting, slowly climbing up both of those naturally through normal gameplay, enchanting the stuff i got from dungeons before selling it, and making potions to ensure my survival. And it felt great, and the enchanting feels pretty good too now and i look forward to it on future characters, so long i dont neglect it as much as i did this one. Going up the left path is better for smithing for profit, Advanced Armors gives you Steel Plate armor and, (with Dawnguard DLC), Nordic Carved Armor. Both of which are extremely profitable to make for selling and the former especially is made solely of readily available materials (the latter uses 1 Ebony, but the rest of the materials are common). At Smithing 50, you can readily net profit by buying materials to make these armors, smith them and temper them, then sell the back to the smith you bought materials from. (both is ideal if you can spare the perk points for it, of course).

So I decided to try my hand at seeing how fast I could get up and running and start profiting off of smithing. In probably about 8 hours of gameplay total, I managed to reach level 20, max out smithing at 100 w/ all perks (just hit that now), and got Speech up to 53 (with all perks available at that level on left side spec'd), and had over 17000 gold on hand and materials enough to make easily another 3-4k in sellable items. I suspect I could make to 1,000,000 playing this way in probably under 100 hours played (most of my profiting was in about the last 2 hours as I finally got smithing high to make items from bought materials and then resell them for a non-trivial profit). I probably hit smithing 50 around the 5 hours played mark, even then I was just keeping up with expenses at first making only Orcish Armor and Steel Plate Armor (and tempering both before selling). Now I'm running out of places to sell things (need speech 70 ASAP for Investor perk, lol). I have like about 5 unspent perk points too that I could start investing into combat skills if so desired (all of assigned perk points atm are in smithing and speech, and nowhere else).
@Frightning
@Frightning Жыл бұрын
With high smithing and speech skills and relevant perks, you can just buy most of a smith's inventory of materials, make everything that optimal to make with it, sell it all back to him and others, and make a bigger profit just due to volume of transactions moreso than having the best possible ratio. Basically, you should know what your ratio is between base cost of an item and buy price for it (use something somewhat valuable like a Gold Ingot (100) to estimate this ratio. Then square that ratio (it times itself), that's the net exchange rate of buying something and then selling it back, you need to beat that number w/ the ratio between base value of materials used versus base value of the finished product. Any item you can make that has a favorable ratio is worth making. You should also know what the optimal ways to use materials are (for instance Ebony Ingots are best used to make Nordic Carved Armor, but you're likely to run out of Steel Ingots first making those, so remaining Ebony (and available Daedra Hearts) should be used to make Daedric Warhammers, after that, remaining Ebony Ingots should be used on Ebony Bows.

The fastest way to level smithing after level 50-60 would have been to craft nordic bows. They sell for a stupid amount and they only cost quicksilver and steel ingots. Quicksilver starts showing up in vendor's inventory at around level 20-30, and you can get steel from the start, so it's very easy and cheap to make. To get to level 50 in smithing though, it's best to craft golden necklaces, not golden rings. The necklaces have a higher value than two rings, so you get more experience from making it than you do making the rings.

There's an easier way to get daedric hearts by finishig daigon Quest for that instant kill dagger ( forgot its name) every now and then demora lords will spawn inside the temple and each time they'll have daedric heart. They reset every two days more, so you'll get an infinite supply of it.

if someone dosent want to do any enchanting but only smithing then instead of wasting time making gold rings just do the fortify restoration trick and make a blacksmithing potion with high numbers and pick any random weapon or armor you want,drink the potion and upgrade it boom instant 100 smithing.enchanting is really good but its a real pain to keep clicking the button

Underrated item for smithing leveling: Dwarven Bows
@marcmontalvo787

Homie skipped over dwarven gear. Go to nchuand zel in markarth, bring a follower. You can lug about 700 ore wirth of scrap if you clean it out. Walk (while encumbered) to the stables outside markarth. When you get on a horse you can fast travel. The travel to whiterun, smelt scrap, then craft bows with 2 dwarven ingot and 1 iton ingot. Then upgrade the bows. One trip will level you from 30 to 70, a second trip to level 100

Alchemy for gold is better... but to do this you need to max out the enchantment of items to have a gear (regular clothes, low weight) that gives you advantages to alchemy and blacksmithing. You create a potion that gives you a plus to blacksmithing and you can make armor that has 10k + in total... I also recommend clothes for trade.

I know it's unlikely to get read, but I found out that for speech leveling, you need to sell one expensive item at a time to the vendor, if you stack it the xp only goes through once for the first item, after that you just get gold. So another super obscure detail to skyrim wonky skill trees

In some of my current playthroughs, I've made my fortune doing the usual smithing grind. Get Transmute spell, mine iron and silver ores, transmute, turn to ingots, we all know the rest. But honestly, for time reasons, I've considered but just using the Fortify Restoration exploit and getting the Smithing skill out of the way.

With enough smithing and speech skills you can buy all the materials needed for the Nordic armour and by crafting and improving it, one can easily get profit upto 1400 or more. With that you can again buy all the materials needed for it. In short improving the armour is the key. I would recommend the allure perk in the speech skills to get good prices at female vendors. With it for me the buying price of an iron ingot is just 14 septims and iron ore price is just 3 septims. My speech skill is about 55.

Lorewise, being a blacksmith in Skyrim is probably the best occupation you could wish for. The Stormcloaks need you to smith weapons. The Imperials, traitors as they are, would still need you for the same reason... in the event you happen to be unfortunate enough to live under their rule. Just hide your Amulet of Talos, keep receiving (or in the player's case: buying/mining) ore and keep on hammerin'! You'll be set for life. Well, unless maybe a dastardly dragon comes and sets your house on fire, but that risk comes with any occupation in Skyrim.

I passively collected about 540k through a similar process except I choose to make silver garnet rings and enchant them with petty soul gem's which sell for alot more than standard metal ring's, now I still managed to reach level 100 on smithing in about thirty levels when using the smithing standing stone and yes it's well worth it, but I kinda gave up on the all gold hording thing and just played the game for once, now I'm going to see if I can complete the main storyline for the base game and the two dlc's at level 1 meaning no perk's for the entire playthrough, also because this special addition came out it's made it where you can at level one get a light armour set of dradric armour and a dradric crossbow which if you level your bow skill one shots deathlords and four shots litches or dragon priests, and humans it one shots standing

You dont have to kill the merchant if you wanna reset there inventory. You can just punch them. Btw the banish enchantment is the most valuable one. So at i think either level 12 or 23 go to a smithing merchant and just constantly reset them till you get it. Its 100% worth it.

I don't blame you for scoot booting other miners. I am too kind to do that, but it sucks how little ore each mine has. Some have more miners than ore and they spawn already on the ore day or night, and scrape the mine clean.

Ayo the blacksmithing helps you level up so much with the iron ore to gold ore and then gold rings to getting rich. Helped me level several of my characters. Personally my main character Gilgamesh the Argonian Dragon Knight is a blackmsmith as a hobby. I would love blacksmithing in any world.
@chaptermastermarneuscalgar6926
@chaptermastermarneuscalgar6926 Жыл бұрын
Using gold rings to make money and level up is subpar once smithing hits level 30 because you could be using that iron to craft Dwarven Bows. A trip to Nchuand-Zel will get you enough materials to make hundreds of Dwarven Metal Ingots as long as you don't mind being over encumbered, although you can get a speed boost by equipping a bow and keeping it drawn.
