The one thing I've learned from these videos is to not buy Japanese fruit
@boskilingenfelter9515 Жыл бұрын
Dude i feel ya, but there is a reason why japanese fruits are expensive. It has to do with their culture of gift giving and giving a piece of fruit is part of the culture in the business world (i believe) So there is a demand for extremely high end "Designer" fruits. There are literally stores that are basically jewelry stores but they sell fruit.
@JoeHabana Жыл бұрын

@floofyboi2520 Жыл бұрын
Funnily enough the reason japanese fruits are so expensive come down to two reasons 1. Theres a culture of giving gifts to higher ups in companies to get in their good graces, more expensive = better gift 2. They are unironically really really good quality, but not only are they really good fruits, because theyre cultivated to an unreasonable standard, if there's even one easily noticed imperfection theyre marked down alot. Basically japanese fruits arent seen as an item you buy for yourself, and they bought the highest grade that has no visible imperfections instead of getting one that may not be a perfect circle or may have a single dent for half the price.

@@cuteasduck3254 You also have to consider land. Japan is very mountainous and has a minuscule amount of land that can sustain fruits. Most of the land that they CAN use is needed for other things like rice. Just because it’s odd in America doesn’t mean the price isn’t reasonable.
