If only the pit zero build didn't have enemy Nametags on 🙁 We seriously need someone to make a zero build free for all game (like pit or Red vs. Blue) just without enemy name tags. It's not normal to have a constant UAV out on all your enemys and vise versa..It makes it much more realistic without them on

This is the single best piece of advice I've ever gotten. I made this change 2 days ago. I did about 1-2 hours of creatives training each day, and my game has already improved SIGNIFICANTLY. I'm obliterating people with the auto shotty and beaming them in the air while they try to get grimey with the try-hard-giga-sweat pushes straight at me. I don't fear the medallions or mythics at all anymore. I can take them. I know people don't like to put in the practice hours, but 2-3 hours of training this on the various aim training maps Toby recommends will take your game to the next level.

I find 30 minutes a day is great for mastering any skill to avoid burnout. 2hours a day is not realistic if you got a normal schedule. I do agree with you tho. Every game I play I practice and experiment before going against anyone. It only makes sense otherwise in fn if you don’t practice you’ll be a loot box 😂

For those that are having a hard time comprehending what he is talking about here, let me put it like this.. For the hunters out there, when you shoot clay pigeons or actual birds, you aren't looking at the bead and the end of your shotgun barrel to line up the shot right. No, you're focusing on the clay pigeon or bird. Same goes for shooting any other weapon. The best competitive shooters don't close their non dominant eye when shooting.. Both eyes are open and focused on the target. The sights of their actual weapon are "out of focus" because their focus is on the target. I hope that helps explain it another way, because after all of my years playing FPS games, this video just gave me an AH HA moment when I thought about it like shooting real life weapons.
@Newuxtreme
@Newuxtreme 3 ай бұрын
Interesting, but if this is the case why is shooting taught ans considered correct with one eye close and lining up your targets then?
@necktiegaming
@necktiegaming 3 ай бұрын
@@Newuxtreme that’s true for longer range pistol shooting or rifle shooting. But for close range pistol shooting you keep both eyes open. In the Conceal Carry Classes and training I have taken they tell you to work on keeping both eyes open. Plus if you close an eye is a CQB situation, you loses ALL vision on that non dominant side. In turn causing you to lose situational awareness as well. Hope that helps.

Yes! It clicked in my mind that this is how I hunt and compete in open competitions. It just never clicked to do it on a smaller scale on a monitor. It made so much instant sense to me. I shoot distance and close with both eyes open. Unless the shot has to be precise. I am a switch shooter (left eye dominant, right hand dominant) so shooting with one eye closed makes me tilt my weapon. The best cure is to not close them.

Toby...my man. WOW! I am not a good player and my aim is trash but after watching this video, I jumped into a solo BR to try out your technique of not looking at the reticle and focusing on the enemy and don't lose track of them. It was amazing! I had to play 3 solo BRs just to make sure it wasn't a fluke and it's not. It didn't make me a good player instaneously and I won't be crushing lobbies but it definitely increased my aim 10 fold and working on this technique will only help me get better. I've been playing FPS going back to DOOM and no one has every taught me this. Thank you. I have you as my Item Shop creator but do you have a way for a 1 time donation. I feel like I owe it.

Great Tips! I practice everyday in red vs blue and the pit for at least twenty minutes and its helped me a lot. I relax my muscles and glue my eyes to opponents and let my gun follow whilst moving my character around. The more I focus on their movements and learn the timing, the more predictable it is to follow and land shots.

That second bit with the twin mag AR was fine but now that we don’t have hit scan it is even harder but .. your point makes even more sense, if you look at your target you are going to be way better at anticipating your shot and leading them enough. Hitting those with bullet drop and velocity would impossible or random if you would look at the reticule.; Thank you Tobi

This reminds me of this one Overwatch pro that mained Hanzo (a guy with bow and arrow so you can imagine how hard it is to aim with him), and he made a series where he got to the highest rank playing him without a crosshair to prove to people to crosshairs don't matter. Sure at first as a beginner you kinda wanna have a reference, but after a short amount of time that literally doesn't matter anymore.

I feel like this applies the same as when I mute ALL the audio...-i ALWAYS have better aim... the idea with the crosshair is the same. It is what I started doing whenever there is a new weapon, because I focus WAY too much on the sound, and how it makes the gun FEEL... but when everything is silent, you notice EVERYTHING. -The bullet-drop, the player, and the rate at which you press keys and the correct timing of shots... I already knew the crosshair thing but I got dumb and forgot to remember it, but I haven't really scientifically analyzed it yet THIS hard, and I feel, that it can ALSO be applied to placing the right building piece at the RIGHT time and place... now that I think about it. -something I struggle with severely, with mirroring fingers and this..."lost context" feeling my hands have... It must all become automatic... I know that, but often I fall into noob 2-iQ don't-know-the-next-play spammy-not-spammy build-but-like-i-am-in-mud mode, And maybe remembering to have my hands BE my character would fix it... I need to focus on LOOKING where I will go, and placing the piece I need, rather than thinking "I should build ___"... it is the SAME lag...it is like learning a new language without knowing the meaning of the words... You can learn how things are all spelled, but without being shown, you will never REALLY have learned it... Welcome to my 2:AM ted-talk, Goodnight.

I have my crosshairs turned off in literally every other shooter, I always thought it helped in some kinda way, but I never seen any conclusive evidence so I stopped. In Sea of Theives you don't even have an option for crosshairs. I personally think it's just visual clutter. In games I can change the color of the crosshair, I always go Black

Normally people are smart enough to follow hand or finger movements but if you cant heres a tip. So for shotgun you have to be quick but accurate on the shot you can also try a map for quick reaction so you get the hang of it. for an ar dont look at the full crosshair when shooting someone only look at the dot in the middle since thats the thing you actually need to be precise about. I feel like everything except for snipers follow the ar strat

Turned off my reticle in overwatch and my aim improved there too, crazy how you instinctively aim where you're looking

Toby you used tennis analogy so I add only that tennis players whether club level or pro keep their head still and track the ball with moving eyes. The moment you move your head ball tracking stops.

It's a good way to train. It's more beneficial for players with a lot of input lag.

hey @TobyWanShinobi as a new player to Fortnite this is indeed helpful as I'm sure the more experienced players may already be doing this or something similar that works for them, I have been looking/wanting tutorial vids for pretty much all aspects of the game as I am still really new to the whole controller based game play or even shooter games in general, in some ways I feel like I'm floundering in a sea of unknown controls growing up I did not have any of these games or gaming devices so how to navigate them is all new to me. I do realise that each game may have slightly different mechanics for it but on the whole they seem pretty similar as well, so if you know what your doing in one transferring the skill to another would be fairly easy, but it's learning all of that first that's the issue, if you have a step by step tutorial video/s that may be able to assist someone like me that is coming into it blindly and remembering how you yourself had to learn everything that would be extremely helpful. all the best and I hope this made sense
