btw, sea world, movie world and dreamworld are all located at Gold Coast QLD, connected by public transport so it will be easy to plan your trip around, especially the latter 2 are both connected by tx7 bus from Coomera station and Helensvale station, which are just 1 station apart, sea world can also be reached by the tram at Helensvale station or via bus, there are a lot more to GC than theme parks, like surfers paradise, hinterland etc, and even Brisbane just north of GC with both cities connected by half hourly train line(from a uni student studying in GC)

I know you're focused on coasters. But since you are from my same generation, you really should make an effort to get to Australia Zoo in Sunshine Coast. It's the Steve Irwin (Crocodile Hunter) zoo. I'm pretty sure you'd get some views, even from coaster enthusiasts if you went there and watched the Crocoseum Crocodile show.

a lot of these coasters are very underrated, you’ll be shocked by Leviathan, Jet Rescue and Superman. just remember that these parks are in the middle of renovations especially Dreamworld (mostly completed now), and the gold coast got really bad storms during christmas so it’s looking more rough then normal.

You don’t get very wet on water rides in Aus so all good for Storm Breaker. Sit at the front of New Big Dipper, it has a real decent rattle. Green Lantern is boring so I hope you get at least a little enjoyment from it. If they are running the spinning seat train on Steel Taipan, pay for it a couple times cause taking the loop sideways is awesome and the heartline towards the end backwards/sideways is so freaking good.

I had mediocre luck during my trip, and missed out on Superman, Green Lantern, Wild Mouse, and Storm Coaster. Here's a few of my thoughts/tips. 1. Steel Taipan does not run the spinning seat on weekdays, so try heading there on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Luckily, Dreamworld doesn't get as crowded as the other two Gold Coast parks from what I've seen. 2. I visited just 4 months ago, and Leviathan was running GREAT. We'll see how it looks down the line, but for now it's a smooth and forceful experience. Easily top 3 in Australia (as noted, can't speak for Superman sadly), might even be my number one in the country. 3. I think there's a hype bubble around DC Rivals since it's only one of a couple Mack hypers and none were easily accessible to the vast majority of enthusiasts (Hyperia will change that soon). Don't get me wrong, it's a great ride, but it's not elite (forwards at least - backwards is another story). Hope you have a great time! The country is beautiful and there's lots to enjoy outside of coasters.

Don’t sleep on Wild West Falls! one of the best log flume rides in the world. Leviathan and DC rivals are fantastic, Superman Escape can be hit or miss simply because those intamin accelerators have reliability issues (I remember one day the coaster being closed for three hours as they checked the brake fins on the launch) but when it’s running it’s among the best in the world, especially if you’re a sucker for theming. Superman closes for maintenance this February so I hope you get in before that’s out of the equation.

I agree, I would have to do the tourist stuff, go to the beaches, check out the best attractions in Sydney and Melbourne, especially with the Happy Slam the Australian Open going on during these next two weeks. Also if I could stay long enough I would have to go up to the great barrier reef, especially since humans are destroying reefs like this one with their overconsumption and pollution. Even though I know it is really far north away from Sydney and Melbourne I would have to plan time to go to the great barrier reef if I were traveling that far from the us to Australia.

True Australia doesn’t have much, I live in Melbourne and go to the Gold Coast twice a year, good choice on skipping Melbourne. Golden coast is where it’s at ,it’s limited. leviathan coaster in sea world is amazing! I went on it 3 times in November for the first time definitely one of my new favourites, jet rescue is an old school favourite that is fast and thrilling ! Best two to do in sea world. Dream world I haven’t been to in years, most Australians won’t go there after the 1 accident they had years ago, the place is still recovering from that disaster and stigma of being unsafe and not well kept. I might start going back to dream world In 2025 as it looks like it’s changed. Movie world is where it’s at for Australia. Super man is always a favourite, fast and over fast though, scooby do is a classic and favourite , Wild West log ride is also a classic and favourite. The joker ride has definitely taken the title for best ride in Australia, and yes backwards is an experience too, costs extra to go backwards but is worth it every now and then. The green lantern I can’t stand, mainly because I like a fast coaster. A couple of years ago they took away the arkham asylum ride, formally known as as the lethal weapon, not sure where it was sold to but it’s bye bye 😢

Unfortunately the Gold Coaster is more of a "fun" ride than offering any real thrills. You don't get much of any air time the whole thing, and it was designed to fit into a tight layout at Luna Park, with head choppers and old carnival theming, but was then built in a the open in dreamworld, so a lot of that element is missing. Some of it has been returned a bit since they built the water park around the layout, and it has some nice interactions with the slides there, but for a good few years, it was just ran, propped strangely high above the ground in an open green field.

@TallisYourName7 ай бұрын
I've ridden all of these many times (except the wild mouse). Let's start with the bad. The Motocoaster is just awful in every way. The worst restraints on any coaster, terrible op's, its launch is underwhelming, it rattles and it's ugly. Go straight there as soon you can to get it over and done with. Cause it's the only Coaster that gets a line at Dreamworld. If you want to do the spining back seat (tailwhip) go on a weekend. Saturday night, they do a night market event. It's OK. Big Dipper rattles badly. That being said a front row ride is excellent, and if you go at night to Luna Park Syd. It's sometimes so quiet that they'll let you stay in your seat and reride. The front row is a completely different experience compared to the other rows. The GoldCoaster is just weird. It's like the person who designed it is playing RCT for the 1st time. My suggestion on how to beat the crowds. Go do Superman 1st at Movie World. Be prepared to put your things in a locker for that ride. You can only take your glasses with you. DC Rivals line can go slow. But it's been OK lately. I've only had to wait like 2 trains lately. Hopefully, you have that luck. DC also needs to warm up. Make sure to get a ride around 3pm. They do the parade at 3:30pm and most people go to watch that. It also seems to be when it's running at its fastest Leviathan is just fantastic. It's moody, but. I've had the smoothest and roughest rides I've had on it within an half hour from eachother. But overall it isn't rough. Other non Coaster attractions that are a must do. Skyvoyager, the tiger island show at 12pm and Giant Drop at Dreamworld. Wild Wild West at MV. The slides in the fun house at Luna Park.

The restraints on copperhead strike hurt and ruin the ride. The restraints on blue fire are a little tight and uncomfortable and make the ride less enjoyable, but it is still a decent ride and a million times better and smoother and less painful than copperhead strike. Plus it is a lot longer with a greater variety of elements and a far better launch that is faster and packs a far greater punch and blue fire has a lot more intensity and smoothness.

@@StamfordBridge Nobody in Australia says Eastern Australia anyway. I suspect that's just an American convention because they are so used to referring to the west coast or east coast. It makes little sense in Australia because 99% of people live around the edge and the "middle" is pretty empty. Melbourne is near the bottom of Australia but you can't say it's in South Australia because that's a state (ironically further north than Melbourne!)
@StamfordBridge7 ай бұрын
@@Codetapper At the risk of belabouring a small point, again the video didn’t say East Coast, so there’s no connection to U.S. regional terms. And we can assume the video was not saying Eastern Australia, as if it were an official geographical designation, but eastern Australia, as in, the eastern half of Australia, which Melbourne is located in. I’m all for the local terms always being the correct terms, so I’m with you there, but I can’t see anything wrong with anyone saying a city is located in the eastern part of a country if that’s where the city is.
