I was born in America but both my parents are fully Guyanese! Mom cooks Guyanese dishes every single day and they're all so delicious and comforting. I really love curry and cook up rice, and Christmas time is always the best with pepper pot and bread. This video made me smile a ton because I've eaten almost every dish on the list! I'm glad my mom cooks the foods from her home country, it truly leads to the best life :)

My favourite Guyanese dishes are pepperpot, cookup rice, curry (usually either goat or duck), and chow mein.

Fried rice is my favorite Guyanese food, especially from the Chinese. Then Pepper Pot.

Gal you mek me hungry when you mention all them dish. But you forget, Chinese fry-rice and chowmein. I wouldn’t consider black cake a dish but more a desert. And, that could have been another video for 10 best deserts. Wha you think?

My favorite food is Kulungy stuff Kerila, with dhal, fry fish and seven cyrry 7 different vegetables , Basmati rice.

It's dhalpuri and not puri.

Pepper Pot is not a Native American dish. The Guyanese version however uses the Native American Casareep sauce. Pepper pot is African.
