The National Teachers College ako ng-aral ng college from 1965 to 1969 Praise be to God na gumabay at tumulong s mgs magulang upang ako ay makapagtapos ng aking pag-aaral. Isa na kong retired ESP-1 last 2009. Thank U, Fr God !!!

Fantastic job Fern, although I did not study in the UB ( my Dad, brothers and sisters did), I learned more from your additional research. Kahit nasa sofa lang ako ramdam ko ang pagod! La Co, Baste, Holy momo (ghost) as we students call it, Sa Beda ( kalaban sa NC.) at UST. brings back a lot of nostalgic memories. Another successful vlog! Very positive! Walang politics!! Original location ng UST was in Intramuros since 1611. 1927 lang sila lumipat sa present location in Sampaloc, Manila.

I have never seen the stretch of Recto Avenue na ganyan ka deserted. First time ko nakita ang mga sidewalk na dating punong-puno ng vendors na walang katao-tao

Naalala ko nung kabataan ko habang nagka-college school hunting ako, nagawi ako sa area ng U-Belt and in fact took some college entrance exams in particular UST, CEU, San Sebastian, san Beda at UE Manila na lahat nmn ay naipasa ko along with my exams din sa PLM at Mapua sa Instramuros at UP Diliman. Nung bata ako (7 years old) mangha-mangha ako sa mga taga-USTE kung tawagin at ninais ko mula nuon makapasok sa UST but as fate would have it, I ended up sa UP Diliman. Pero ang sarap ikutin ng U-Belt buhay na buhay at ang daming pwede puntahan lalo na yung tindahan ng 2nd hand books. I also took my review classes malapit sa UST, bandang Morayta ung review center. Great memories going in those places!

after watching your vlog and presentation all of a sudden i became nostalgic and feeling sad at the same time after seeing the map and pictures of the school i have attended and the place where i used to live and had spent part of my younger life and help develop and mold my character for what i am today. i have spent my entire college days living in a boarding house on lerma street sampaloc manila directly across from the FEU arts and sciences bldg. lerma street are used to be lined with dormitories, like the stella maris, florams, holy ghost and various other small boarding houses but i understand now that the place are now totally different because it was taken over by the FEU due to there expansion project and those dormitories were now demolished and gone. much appreciated fern for your good work and an excellent presentation. keep it coming kayoutubero, waving at you and a big thumbs up from Portland, Oregon USA.

This is the channel that I cannot pass up each time I go on You Tube, You definitely have one of the best contents in You Tube especially for a Filipino who has lived here in the US for almost 50 years. The Then and Now shoots are amazing! The infrastructure of the country has kept in pace of the times. And indispensable for a growing population. Meantime I shall wait for the continuing series of other century founded schools like Letran 1620, Ateneo 1859, UP 1908 etc.

So nice to reminisce my college days way back early 80s. U belt area was very vibrant and lively together with our favorite food hangouts in Legarda, Bustillos and Morayta. By t he way you forgot to include Sta. Catalina College in Legarda which is also more than 100 years old.

I feel very emotional seeing this video, thank you very much for featuring these schools. Me and my siblings are all products of those schools you featured here. I'm a proud alumnae of La Consolacion College Manila batch 2000 (actually dapat batch 1999 ako pero loko-loko kasi ako dati hahahaha) where I studied Business Management and I'm applying all I learned there to my own small businesses. My siblings studied and graduated in UST (one is batch 2002 and the other is batch 2007), San Beda University (batch 2005) and Letran College (batch 2010) in Intramuros, Manila. You may also add Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Intramuros, its founded in 1620 so also 400+ years old like UST and also founded by Dominican priests. Also my late grandfather's Alma Mater was National University and two of my aunties and my uncle are alumnis of UST back in the early to mid 80s. Grabe hindi ko na nakilala ang Alma Mater ko, ang laki na ng pinagbago may Starbucks na! Dati nung time ko iba pa itsura nung gate at wala pa yung building kung nasaan yung Starbucks ngayon. Yung pinupwestuhan ng Jollibee ngayon sa may intersection ng Legarda at Mendiola, dati ang naaalala ko is Corona bookstore ang nakapwesto dun. Ang Mendiola wow may covered footbridge na ngayon, ang taray!

College days, i think are the best days of everybody's life and it all happened in University Belt. Although wala pang 100 years yun almamater ko which is Pccr(established 1954) ay proud pa din ako sa vlog mo. More power Fern. Looking forward sa part 2😊
