That thing is sweet. My dad would have loved this. He was into early gas engines, outboards. If it had a detachable pull rope, dad was pulling it, picking clean old carburetors, scraping and filing points....

check the connection on your front plug wire, saw a couple stray sparks near the plug while you had it running (nice healthy blue sparks too) that is a great bike all around

Not sure how I missed this video when it came out. Came up with a 1919 bottom end myself but haven’t started collecting any other parts for it yet. Mine is L19A8895 but just bare cases with the crank inside,looks as though someone had just refitted new rollers in it then stashed it away.

What was the green headlight for?

Please spray Inox on the bare metal (Cylinder, heads, exhaust, ect)! It is and Australian version of WD40, that has Lanolin oil in it. It is by far the best thing for preservation of old bikes and it is perfect for boats!!

Oil leakage and pans beneath, can these HD be fixed or just let them as original condition?
@bradboustead16823 жыл бұрын
I believe some older motorcycles by design had an oiling system that just went down through it to the ground. Look up "total loss oiling system" for description.

Hi guys, well since more than 30 years a got a big big question about the green color of the early harley , well the green ans all of the deco looks pretty similar of the famous swiss Motosacoche, even the v-tiwn motor looks very like the 750cc and 1000cc v-twin motosacoche , wheels trough time ...motor bike for eternity

If it has a generator, , why did it need to be hooked up to start? Shouldn't it have started with just the crank?
@gregorytimmons47774 жыл бұрын
I think only a magneto will start an engine without a power source A generator equipped bike needs a battery in the circuit to accept the charge provided by the generator. In other words almost nothing is generated at kickover. Generator output starts at about 2000rpm.

When did Harley-Davidson start using a kick start as opposed to a peddle start?
