You are an honest man, Brother Dale. To a fault. I knew a Baptist minister who struggled much like you did, except he took a much more tragic route out. I don’t understand why God does this to men and women. His own children. God bless the Methodist church. They took you in. Accepted you before you opened up. Accepted you after you opened up to them. I honestly don’t understand what they could have done. It’s not as if “it” can be cured. You are not ill. You are clearly a man of God. Not perfect. But like I’ve said before, you’ve taught me more about prayer than anyone my entire life. This week, out of the blue, my son agreed to pray with me. Out of the blue. As to your inclination, I don’t know what to say except to say God loves you. Period.

Thank you.

Could you do a video about your icons and perhaps icons you like? I'm curious about getting myself two or three.

Yeah. That would be easy.

You asked me in a comment recently about the Nazarene hymnal. Why answer in a comment when I can make a video about it? I had a copy of this same Methodist hymnal, along with the Companion (read: commentary); I think I sent both to Scott aka Thrift Store Bibles.

Mamo sent me the Companion. I found an anniversary edition of the hymnal at his favorite MCC thrift store (my greatest find there!) I checked the Companion but it only really comments on the hymns and canticles, sadly there is nothing about the calendar or services. The 1964/66 hymnal is particularly important to me as it was in use when I was baptized in the UMC, so it contains the service used.

I'm pretty sure that this is the hymnal I grew up with...mom had a copy in a looseleaf edition on the piano. We would play together every day, mom on piano and me on violin. This is why I can improvise, while most classical violinists can't. Improvising on hymn tunes was my "mother's milk."
