This old house originally began its life as a small one story house built in the late 1700’s. The back half of the house which still remains incorporated into the main Greek revival structure. In the middle 1800’s the family found success in farming and local politics as the father was a local Judge and had this large Greek revival house built around 1830-1840. The house would remain lived in by the same family for another few generations until the 1960’s to 1970’s when the house was finally vacated for a final time. For the last 40 or so years the house has sat empty slowly crumbling away and giving into the cruel hands of time and nature. Such an incredible old place, glad to have been able to document it. The second house was also built around 1850-1860 in a rural old railroad town just before the onset of the American civil war. Built for a local prominent businessman in a very unique style for the area, looks like a raised creole cottage or like some house you would see down in Louisiana. Loved the unique architecture.
