This video is an overall review of the 2021 Formula One Season. The 2021 Formula One World Championship saw one of the most intense F1 championship battles ever, the Max Verstappen vs Lewis Hamilton title race. This saw a number of controversial moments over the season, including the 2021 British Grand Prix, 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix, 2021 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix and the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Despite the fierce battle between Formula 1 World Champions Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. There were a number of other drivers who had interesting seasons. Ferrari managed to take third in the championship with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, beating out Mclaren who had Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo as their drivers, scoring a 1-2 at the 2021 Italian Grand Prix. Alpine and AlphaTauri had a significant 2021 Formula One championship battle with Pierre Gasly, Yuki Tsunoda, Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon, who won the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix. Elsewhere, George Russell was able to take the 2022 Mercedes F1 seat ahead of Valtteri Bottas, who replaced Formula 1 World Champion Kimi Räikkönen, who retired at the end of the 2021 F1 season.

I think that while Max didn’t deserve to win the last race of the season, he did deserve to win the championship.

Totally agree, I'm on the side of "Max should have won Silverstone" as I don't think it was just a racing incident, but indeed Abu Dhabi was a *********** with very bad decision making.

too many bad decisions where made in that race tbh, there was that one overtake max had which basically he got robbed off but then micheal masi robbed hamilton and the saftey car chaos is just straight bs. no winner can be determined from these mistakes so it is what it is sadly

Lewis didn’t leave the magic on, he turned it off heading it to the pit box, but on the restart his upshift hand clicked it as he was going to the gears. Merc changed this design pretty quickly after that lmao

lmao I was in a similar scenario with a really good friend of mine I'm not rlly a Verstappen fan but I needed someone to go with for the championship, as I do with the midfield, in this case, between McLaren, Renault and Ferrari Anyway, it was fun arguing over incidents after every race ESPECIALLY after Abu Dhabi Congrats to Max all the same, for 3 WDCs

2021 was like the pure essence of Formula 1, concentrated into a single season. The driver changes, the intense battles and even the controversies all made for such a memorable year, and I am so glad that I got to experience it as a hardcore F1 fan

2021 is, and always will be, my favourite F1 season of all time. Saying that season was epic is an understatement. Thank you for reminding me of an awesome season and good work summing it up in a 10 minute video. 👍

Great video again. I wouldnt look at whether this video is better than the last one too hard. First of all, this being about a single season, it kinda forces to make the video a bit more informative and serious than "haha funny banter moment" all the time than the last one, which was about the whole history of F1. I dunno if you started making this before or after you released the first one, but if you started it after, then holy fuck you are set. My concern is how many of these funny historical documentaries can be made before it goes to topics that are hard to make into an entertaining video. If this is a theme you plan to continue with, rather than anything thats probably going to be the greatest obstacle in keeping up this benchmark you´ve set upon yourself by making these two absolute bangers for video quality.

3:04 It’s somewhat correct^^. The ”brake magic” is used as an aid heating up the front tyres before the start or restart of a race. It’s not limited to red flag periods

The 10 sec penalty for lewis in silverstone was never enough. should have been a drivetrough penalty at least or 10 sec stop and go.

Why? Max was SO much worse over the year. Silverstone isn't anywhere near as bad as people make out, Max's driving in Imola, Saudi, Brazil etc was intention and just downright terrible.

Lewis left him three cars width and had his wheel far enough parallel with Max's rear tyre to have been warranted space. max attempted to shut the door on a car that was already there and pitted himself. observable reality.

i feel like the masive issue with this season on a whole was that redbull had no idea how long they would be competative for as they were planning 2021 to be a building team for 2022 and didnt expect the car to be this fast so they were very agressive trying to get as many points as posible. merc seeing this then needed to be as agressive to win so it was just chaos with the stewards trying to keep wheel to wheel racing alive and keep the championship entertaining and not allowing rediculous rules causing everything to go to shit

If i recall correctly, the decision from michael masi wasnt really against the rulebook. I think it said "unlap ANY cars" and not all. So it was more a grey area... But after 2021 they changed it. But please correct me if I am wrong, I just remembered it like this.

Correct in that sense. But the rules Masi didn't follow was that the safety car shouldve gone into the pits the lap AFTER the cars unlapped themselves, this would've meant the safety car entered the pits on the last lap, instead of the second last lap.

The thing is, what you just explained was the justification massi and redbull had for the move, but later investigations called that "human error" and changing the rule since kinda shows that it wasn't the correct interpretation

@@datbadatboidoi6092 It sortof was a correction. Masi refused to allow cars to unlap themselves earlier. Had he done that, we wouldve had the same last lap shootout with Max on fresh softs and Lewis on old hards. Masi only unlapping the ones between the 2 is the point of contention, yet done in the spirit of trying to finish the race under green flags as team agreed on at the start of the season. Basically, to avoid what we saw last year in Italy I believe? But hey, they needed a scapegoat... And lets be real here, the entire season had those weird moments.. (weird or no penalties etc)
