That 0-60 is about the same as a TLX Type S. I'd expect an AMG GT to be quicker.

Lol it’s 4550lbs……350lbs heavier then the type s with only 7hp more…………that’s bad for the type s. Magazines have tested this much then this too.

Rolls Royce hasn't really done anything innovative, they've stuck with same old boxy sedan for 20 years now. Bentley actually just added luminescence in their interiors, ghee I wonder who they got the idea from.

6:46 It has frameless windows on the doors yet still has a solid B pillar and the rear doors have that huge glass on the end. Bad design in my opinion.

I disagree with the comments saying the interior is one of the best. All of that shiny black plastic trim looks cheap in my opinion, and just wait until a month into owning the vehicle when you find all the dust it collects. I think Mercedes has gone cheaper with their interiors. And yet they still up charge customers.

@Prime Artemis the IS500 is not in the same category as this vehicle. This is based on the E-Class. The IS500 is in the same category as the C-Class. So different price points there bud.

At first the performance kinda of disappoints me for the price, but it does seemingly fit nice with its competition. The Panamera 4, BMW 840i GC, and Maserati Ghibli S seem like the performance level Mercedes targeted and it seems to fit in well with these cars.

The GT43's low roof means that tall passengers will have a hard time resting comfortably, even when sitting in the front.

This is not a real AMG. This is more like a 850i M sport.For the M5 competition you have to compare it to the E63s.

Interestingly, MB says the AMG GT-4 Door is not based on the E/CLS. Allegedly, its platform is bespoke only for this model.

Mercedes really does do great interiors. They have come a long way back when they used to include telephone keypads on their infotainment. Ambient lighting is by far the best. Cant help but compare the new IS500 interior to these newer German rivals. But man, that 5.0 ..

Yea..but you have to think..they had to make a bigger vehicle thats still under $100k. Most AMGs under $100k arent that big. And some ppl just dont like small vehicles.

@@ESMorg that's true, but the cls53 and e53/43 are all under 100k and are about the same size as the gt 4-doors. From a sales POV, this car certainly isn't a bad idea, but speaking as an enthusiast, AMG's only in-house sedan should've been made exclusively with the v8

Sorry but 100-120k for the base AMG is NOT affordable and dealer markups make it worse. Car is nice but felt underpowered compared to my M3 that cost way less. I would wait for the GT 63 AMG to arrive with turbo V8 and car shortage to end and used one to show up for discount.

You mentioned the car has no heated rear seat. I observed there is a button around the arm rest under the door release latch. What is that button for?
