The 2022 NBA Draft class features a ton of talent like Paolo Banchero and Chet Holmgren, and looks like one of the better draft classes of the past 10 years.

The thing to remember with Sochan is that he’s younger than most of this year’s rookies. The spurs knew he would be a project because of how young and raw he was.

and the biggest thing is that he was never an offensive player. wasn’t in college, wasn’t in those international teams, still isn’t now. he shot 28% from 3 in college and now shoots 33% this season. he’s one of those guys who amplifies a talented team, but this team isn’t ready yet. his impact is gonna look SO much better when there are players that play coherently. If the spurs get a starting caliber PG (tre jones is meant for backup PG) and a defensive wing or a really consistent shooter, jeremy sochan will look much better than people think of him rn.

It might be my bias but J Will (Jaylin Williams) could become a solid backup big in the league. J Dub (Jalen Williams) is already solid but J Will might stick around the league longer that people think.

I think Jalen Williams is the next Kawhi Leonard. I could be wrong, but I see so much of Kawhis early game. I think Kawhi was better defensively out the gate, but I think Jalens better offensively. Hes been insanely good. But I do agree with you about Jaylin, I think he's definitely got a place in the league if OKC can help him develop properly. Definitely a bit of a project player, but he's got the physical makeup to be a really good role player, maybe even a starter. Regardless, OKC is the best place he could have landed. They know quite a few things about developing late picks.

@@Identify_As_Right For the way OKC plays, C is the correct position for now. 6'10" 250lbs is plenty big enough to play C at backup, and OKC needs to have a backup C that is a career 39% from 3 like JWil is. Add to that he's actually a pretty good playmaker (2.5 asst/turn ratio) and one of the smartest charge takers in the league, and I completely agree he will be a good backup big in the NBA for a good while. However I would love to see OKC draft Filipowski and be able to actually run some 2 big lineups if all those guys can shoot. Chet and Jaylin have played pretty good together in their limited mins, but honestly OKC has been killed this season when one of those two isn't on the floor.

@@Identify_As_Right He measured 6'10" 236.6 at the combine almost 2 years ago. He and Mark talked about him gaining 10lbs up to 250lbs this off-season. If you are talking Embiid and Jokic, literally nobody can guard them so big whooptie doo if he can't either. Am I suppose to be worried about his matchup of DeAndre Jordan, Naz Reid, Paul Reed, or Bitadze? I like the odds of JWil in those matchups.

About #9 - I think Sochan's biggest challenge in the future is consistency - he can have one night with double-double or near d-d score, just to get line like 2-1-3 in the very next game. If he can accomplish that, he'll develop into good starter for SAS

Magic were always going to take Paolo #1. They were misdirecting toward Jabari on purpose to see if they could nab the 2nd or 3rd pick and additional assets. He was always the perfect choice for Orlando. Ironically, 1-5 all went to the perfect situations in terms of need & opportunity.

As Cavs, there were three guys I really liked coming into the Draft ( the Cavs had the 14th pick) I liked Ousmane Dieng has a prospect, he had size, he could shoot and he could become an outstanding defender I compared him to a bigger Mikal Bridges I liked Johnny Davis (the bust of this class) at Winsconsin he was someone who could shoot and defend but in the NBA he's been terrible Lastly was Ochai Agbaji at Kansas he was NCAA Champion and MOP despite being the oldest I thought that if the Cavs wanted someone ready they should pick him. Infernous that pick didn't mean much since it got traded from Spida, but it just means that I would have been a terrible GM

I always thought Paolo should have been the number 1 pick because even in college he had "it" he had NBA size, he could get to the rim, and with his size, he could be at least a good defender. Jabari for me was never a choice because I didn't think he had the same skills as Paolo, he could shoot the three but other than that I didn't see anything that moved me. Chet was for me the odd one because either the shooting wouldn't translate or his lack of weight could be an issue, for what I've seen from him it hasn't, the shooting is there and the defense is totally there but even with all of that for me Paolo is the best player from this draft and the Magic have done a great job assembling a team to support Paolo on both sides of the ball.
