#Volvo is on a mission to go completely electric by 2030. For 2022, their EV lineup is expanded with the first-ever #VolvoC40Recharge. It shares the same CMA platform as the XC40 Recharge, the new #C40Recharge is the first Volvo that is offered only as a completely electric vehicle. The 2022 #VolvoC40 also happens to be the brand's first coupified SUV and with up to 402 HP, dual motor AWD, and 226 miles of range, it should offer another competitive entry in the growing luxury EV SUV space. #Volvo #C40 #Recharge #XC40Recharge

Volvo plans to go completely electrified by 2025 and fully electric by 2030! This car is the second all-electric vehicle in their lineup and def one of the most stylish cars Volvo has done in long time. We dig the design, let us know your thoughts below!

It's really just a chop-top XC40 Recharge. Nothing new here. Volvo's more important car is their next-gen XC90 replacement that's suppose to be introduced the end of this year. Bespoke platform, much more aerodynamic, all-new interior and all-new vehicle. That's the car that will begin to define Volvo's future.

I own the C40 Fjord Blue and absolutely love it day in and day out. Got a lot of positive reviews from family and friends. It feels super special to drive this (the first ever) to make it to the city where I live and the first in the South. I haven’t spotted a single one since I took delivery in January. I ordered it from the Volvo website in September and it took roughly 4 months to deliver to my local dealership. The guys did a fabulous job getting it ready within hours for my me to take it home. Flawless design, simple yet lovable interiors and the space for luggage and groceries is just about right for my family

Agreed, i think they need to start really considering the content they put into these cars. This is an entry volvo. Aim for 10% more than the Ice version. If that means you have a 10” touchscreen instead of 20 so be it. I would rather see $35-38k starting with 300-350 range, 6.5-7.5 secs with quick charging.

Even with the tax credit, this car is way too expensive. The interior looks nice but you can't even choose a light color variant to visually expand the space. The black interior and the small screen without anything interesting aside from the topography inserts means this car feels like a 40k car. But it's 60k. I could get a Genisis or a number of really good cars for the price. Also at 60k that range isn't enough. Since these electric cars are going to end up being expensive for a while, manufacturers should always make them mid-to-top spec in terms of the interior and tech. This is an entry level Volvo with almost a 20k jump in price.

Interior layout I think is better than Polestar. Lower centre console gives a more airy sense of space, Polestar is shall we say cosy. Twin cup holders in the C40, one in the Polestar. A small thing but as there is usually two of us in the car it does make life a bit easier. You get a bin in the Volvo😂 again a small thing but little touches like this makes it a little easier to live with. We also preferred the built in screen as opposed to the “attached” screen in the Polestar. The drawback is that the C40 screen is busier than the simpler layout of the Polestar. Drive wise we found the Volvo more comfortable especially on our crappy UK roads Polestar felt more sporty, we drove both the Performance and non performance versions. Suspension was certainly firmer in the Polestar. For daily driving the C40 was better for us. Performance is the same for both. I am sure there are other differences but those are the ones that made our choice, just the little things.

My 2019 S60 Inscription has been horrible. Horrible build quality. My first and last Volvo. Has been plagued with rattles, buzzes and vibration issues. Additionally, power steering, windows/sunroof and buttons just stop working. Reached out to Volvo USA and dealer it was purchased at, been in and out of the shop too many times to remember. Volvo USA puts it on the dealer....dealer puts it on Volvo....horrible experience. Asked them to buy the piece of crap back and denied my request. I make everyone who is shopping a Volvo, aware of my experience. I am sure I have cost them at least 3 sales at this point. Shame cause it is an attractive sedan, but was never so happy to get rid of a vehicle! Simply making other consumers aware of the issues I had with the piece of crap Volvo produced and the horrible customer service they can expect to receive if god forbid they do have issues like me. At the end of the day we are all consumers, and we should make sure we inform each other of poor companies like Volvo. I recently sold it back to Volvo’s dealer network, and they happily accepted it with the dictionary thick service record on it…..for what….to make a quick buck. That right there should tell you everything you need to know about Volvo. But it doesn’t undo the fact that for the first 2 years of ownership I was unable to take advantage of high used car prices and was stuck with returning my car for service every month. Since day 3 of ownership the car was plagued with quality and reliability issues!!! Funny thing is Volvo is so incompetent that the car is still linked to my phone and it is currently in Chicago at McGrath Volvo for $39500. 2019 black S60 Inscription with 33,915 miles on the odo. I feel sorry for the poor soul that buys it next.

That's too bad because the S60 is quite the looker. Not the first time we hear about Volvo and it's quality issues. You'd think they would stand behind their product and take care of their customers, even if you were one of the few unlucky ones who got a lemon. Thanks for letting us know though.

I had a 2013 Volvo S60 and it was pretty bad as well, not many quality control issues necessarily but quite a few electrical bugs inside, and one no-start occurrence which made me terminate the lease 2 days later about 10 months before the lease ended, had it towed to the dealer and never discovered the issue. Liked the car though. I actually find this C40 to be interesting and good looking as I'm considering an EV in the near future since the wife enjoys her 2022 Chevy Bolt EUV and we got good service from her old 2014 Chevy Volt hybrid that we traded for it, but I can't see trusting Volvo again. Will likely consider alternatives.

@Cal94
@Cal94 2 жыл бұрын
@@Carfan678 A wagon would've made a lot of sense, for both aerodynamics and practicality... but even if they didn't go wagon, If they'd wanted to make their first ground-up EV something that'd sell... i'd have expected them to make something outback/CX-50 shaped, and revive the XC70 nameplate. make it not too big for the euro/asian market, not to small for the north american market, and luxurious enough for the 70 number. but a coupe crossover? is anyone buying mustang mach-Es, and tesla model Ys because they think they're good looking cars, or do they sell purely by being [bigger than a sedan and available to buy]? Volvo making their first ground-up EV a coupe crossover, says to me they don't plan on building a lot of these, and they didn't trust EV tech with one of their bread and butter nameplates whenever they drew it up. I find the C40 disappointing, and I'd rather its lithium went towards more T8 plugin hybrids.

@@Cal94 Doesn't make sense to build something most people aren't buying. Volvo has tried to keep the wagon in the USA for as long as possible. They just weren't selling unfortunately. I agree with everything you said, btw. Volvo has stated they will make electric wagons but we'll have to wait a bit to see them.
@Cal94
@Cal94 2 жыл бұрын
@@benjaminsmith2287 see, i dont' think that argument is relevant here. my uneducated opinion, is Volvo clearly doesn't intend for the C40 to be a high volume product. If they wanted to sell a lot of these, they'd have chosen a more cookie-cutter bodystyle, and they wouldn't have made the XC40 recharge. Coupe-crossovers are not high volume cars, and the only examples that sell, are cars that have other attributes soo positive or unattainable that people will overlook their abnormal body shape. Model Ys and Mach-Es wouldn't be the hit that they are, if there existed a midsize electric SUV. But Volvo can't expect to compete with those other EVs, on specs or price, with the C40. so if volvo doesn't actually plan on selling a lot of [C40s], from a global perspective, a wagon makes perfect sense. Asia's not a market of big cars. There's a reason the EV6 and Ioniq5 were styled to look like hatchbacks, and i don't think it was for the north american market. The C40 ain't cookie cutter for asia, it's small in footprint, but big in styling. But Asians would know what a wagon looks like, even if they're uncommon. and if ur gonna sell a luxury car in asia, you might as well have actual space in the car, which a wagon would almost certainly have more of, than the C40. In North america, canada would be perfectly happy to buy up the US's share of EV wagons, if Volvo never sold a single one in the US, but i think it'd sell decently. Because again, People might overlook a less than ideal bodystyle, if it has something they'd be willing to overlook. And a wagon would be the perfect alternative for anyone who wanted an EV with space, and didn't want to drive a blobfish (if the koreans hadn't come swinging so hard this year). And if north america flopped, Volvo knows they'd at very least, have zero issue selling an EV wagon in europe. At the end of the day, Volvo didn't trigger me by not making an EV wagon... they trigger me by making an EV coupe-crossover. Long term, if chip shortages ended, and volvo suddenly wanted to sell a crap load of EVs... what's likely to sell more? a coupe-suv, an actual SUV, or a wagon? I think a proper SUV is the answer, and i expect XC40 recharge numbers will be good globally. it's just big enough for north america, small enough for asia and europe. but i expect a wagon would outsell a coupe crossover. at least in europe and asia.

I wonder when they make a car like this do they consider that people need to tow stuff, that there are windy/cold days which slash the range in half or how about battery degradation? I drive an electric vehicle for 4 years and even 300 miles range causes problems in some circumstances. 200 miles for a family suv is absurd
