Since there really isnt a track niche for 900s I am hoping the coming R9 will have much more relaxed ergos than R7 and Ri etc....hopefully more like Ducati Supersport would be ideal I think An R9 even built on the current MT09 platform (same frame engine, wheels,and SP suspension) I think has the potential to be the stuff of legends! I can see swapping exhaust and with a tune being just an AWESOME affordable sportbike

The MT-07 FZ-07 R-7 all have the Yamaha CP2 engine 689 CC's In Europe they only sold the MT-07 in USA they sold the FZ-07 with optional for $400 ABS .. When they brought the MT Model to the USA it had ABS only .. Say back in 2016 the only differeance between European MT-07 and MUS FZ-07 was the ABS not or ABS with option .. The flat Track guys are getting 110 HP out of the CP2 engine ..

if you want an inline 4, get the cbr. if you dont, get the r7. thats the main difference between the two. if you plan on going to the track, the r7 is much better. im pretty sure the Honda has no adjustability at all. I dont hate the cbr by any means, but id say for most people the r7 is a better choice in general.
@233kosta
@233kosta Жыл бұрын
@@KellerFkinRyan It's a different class of bike as far as I'm concerned. The riding position is different, the suspension isn't adjustable, as you mentioned, though it feels pretty good to me so far, and the power delivery is completely different. I'd just be interested in MJ's opinion. Oh, and Honda have done the opposite to Yamaha in this case. The MT-07 and R7 are completely different bikes which share an engine. The CB and CBR 650R on the other hand are basically the same bike, save for clip-ons, headlight and some plastic.

@kory6313
@kory6313 Жыл бұрын
The ergos really threw me off going from a 300 (I had an R3) to my R7. Biggest tip is take it slow, get used to the seating position and the much higher torque you’ll have. Relax your arms and back, grip the tank with your legs, hold yourself up with your core, and loosen your arms, especially around corners (which the R7 is amazing on). My first mods for the first few months was tail tidy, smoked windscreen (if you’re into that), ASV F3 levers, and a custom engraving given by the road… be careful around gravel and roundabouts 😊

i would seriously be into this bike if it were not so low budgent corner cutting in the name of price point. More allong the lines of Aprilla RS660 maybe (A bike I would also be into sasve for serious qualms about reliability) If only the Yamaha had options for more power more electronics/better wuick shifter maybe forged wheels better brakes and suspension ,,,just overall highter quality components ...I realize the price would jump significantly and I would be fully fine with that.....as is they can keep it. I believe though I COULD live with an R9! I envision mostly same as XRS900 but with MTSP upgrades and maybe better wheels and brakes....all the stugg available for MT09 Tracer 9gy yoo! I mean as far as heated grips and cruise control etc. With controls laid out as ergonomically relaxed as possible while still looking like an R bike

Agreed. That 600 is just pure awesomeness! I think they'll bring it back at some point though. The twin trend for road use is right, but on track you still want a 600 i4. And unlike Honda's comparable offerings (envisaging the CBR650R, for example), this is a pure track machine. Too uncomfortable for regular road use. In some ways I see the value in making it a pure track machine, but in that case it should have been a 600.
