Zach is a much better quarterback than everybody is saying he has a crappy O-line. He has terrible receivers the best receiver he has is Wilson. I feel bad for the poor kid I say kid because I’m 60 years old and he’s not. I hope the Jets don’t get him hurt so when he finally can go somewhere else to play, he can do good.

Not just the two throws at the end of regulation, but the two throws in OT were clutch! First one to Garrett was balsy! He took a big hit at the end of his motion. I think Hackett just honestly need to trust him more. The run game was abysmal which is what you need in a rainy day.

Zurlein's field goals were very low and slanted due to the rain. It's remarkable how great Zach's throws were in this rain.

I remember that drive so vividly, I believe it was 45-47 seconds left with no timeouts, a couple of dumpoffs to LT, a deep bomb to Braylon, then the clutch TD to holmes in corner of the endzone. Holmes was on a 3 game tear of making clutch last min catches to end games (vs Det, CLE, HOU)

The Giants deserved to lose for treating their QB like a gimp and literally not letting him throw a pass beyond five yards. Typically, the receivers weren't even running routes beyond 10 yards.

Watch the last minute of BYU vs Tennessee in 2019. A sophomore Zach Wilson had a very similar last drive at Tennessee to put them into OT and win the game. Zach has not been without mistakes, but he is a lot better than people give him credit for.

Wait, look closely, it doesn't even look like the ref placed the ball for the next play which I think is a rule. Right, the player can't place the ball and then snap it. At least that's what it looks like, that might have changed the outcome if they call that. Well thank goodness either way it's in the books now!

A deep pass play also means the back judge spots the ball on the second play. The first play, the referee can run to spot the ball since there was a penalty on the play (that critical offsides).

Good on the ref for helping them clock the ball.
@CommackMark7 ай бұрын
That encroachment penalty was huge.... stopped the clock allowing a center field completion as opposed to a side line completion to stop the clock.... and give Wilson credit for drilling a perfect pass. Second completion... scrambling out of pocket was all Zak.... give him credit.... that was his skill set on display. And the team then being aware enough to get to line of scrimmage in time to stop clock w spike with one second remaining. All of this was needed and executed perfectly. Then the field goal... wet heavy ball... snap accurate... hold in place... kick good. These last seconds of the game were about as exciting as the 1st 99% of the game was pathetic. Is there a lesson here? I think the Jets offense and Zak might perform better in no huddle hurry up mode.... and they should employ that tactic at times throughout the game. I lost faith in Zak but he does have skills. I think he is held back by fear of making mistakes. Less time to think might improve his performance.
