As an agency owner productizing our services was THE best thing we did for our business.
It opened so many more doors, allowed us to master our craft and expand our offerings even more in a way that allowed us to have a bigger impact.
You'll often find me screaming from the mountain tops that agency owners should productize and add training programs etc BUT, there are some common mistakes that I see people make when productizing that actually prevents them from the results they hoped for when doing it in the first place.

@@gregoryjhickman 2., Perfecting before launching. GUILTY! Still. I've toyed with the prototype/beta offering, but struggled with it for lots of reasons. I still struggle with one: My offering would be to business owners, and even with a discount, what makes that business owner take time to agree to risking their business on a beta? With that T shaped specialization you mentioned, I should be able to communicate value, but as soon as I assign the term "beta" to it, my messaging is now at cross purposes. Value yes, but only if the beta is successful. It is difficult enough to sell and that feels like I'm kneecapping myself.

@@iamericlentz you're creating a problem before you have it. Our clients have sold hundreds of thousands of dollars (if not millions) following this. So, you're probably getting in your own way. Hi Greg! Do you author any book about PRODUCTICIZING? IF yes, what's the title? If none, what can you recommend to better understand producticizing?

No book yet but I'd explore the rest of the videos on the channel as I go deep on the subject. My favorite book (that introduced the word "productization" for the first time is "built to sell".
