I am a "beginning beginner " got headache from watching all different videos "how to " and after viewing those videos I got more confused then before viewing those videos. Seeing Jeff's video ALL became completely clear in 12 minutes. Straight forward, and that is the way it has to be teached and shown. Thanks Jeff, this video helped me a lot.

As a teaching drummer of over 30 years, I have to say Jeff that that is some of the best teaching of grip and techniques I’ve ever seen. I love what you left out as well. No talking about where on your index finger the stick should stay, just get it on there. A lot of the grip has to be discovered. I like the golfer Ben Hogan’s quote it’s something like, “the answers you seek are in the dirt.” Your playing sounds amazing and your production is over the top. Congratulations man for making amazing videos and thanks for sharing your knowledge and your enthusiasm.

So great someone finally stepped up and did this video. I am really happy for every beginner to now have access to a lecture that brings together what I had to condensate by myself over the years watching hours and hours of videos on hand technique. You were able to accomplish that in 12 minutes, which is a big deal! You are really doing an excellent job at preparing and presenting your material. KZfaq education par excellence! 👏

Your video is absolutely amazing. Because you focus on sound and mechanics rather than anything else, you allow players to focus on what matters the most : freedom to produce the sounds we seek. However, what is insanely good here is your ability to condense a lot of crucial information taught through a lot of drummers during decades but in a neutral way. This is instruction at its purest : you don't have an agenda, you just want to help. And what you teach here takes years to truly master and use freely. I can't even believe this video is free... You have my deepest sympathies. I will share this video with every drummer I know because it is simply wonderfully crafted. Thank you, truly 🙏

This is the best lesson ever! You put it all together so succinctly! Years and years of working on technique and this helps me relax knowing it really is a mix and flow of all the techniques- and that blending them prevents arm fatigue. That’s my biggest take away- now I can use different muscle groups and techniques to not only get a better sound, but to keep my arm from falling off when I’m playing 8 mins of 16th note HH grooves at a fast tempo. Awesome. Thanks Jeff!
