Think we will get more lore on these 4 soon or will we br waiting a long time? I think possibly they are saving a lot of past story arcs for the anime when it drops which would be cool too!

The more we learn the more I wonder what Genshin’s endgame is gonna be. The hexenzirkel, the archons, the celestials, the non-natives of Teyvat (Skirk etc.), The harbingers, the sovereigns, the servants of the abyss, the royals of Khanri’ah. All of these factions wield unimaginable power, so who’s to say who reigns supreme in the end and how does that happen without downplaying one another?

I want to know what Gold found while she took Albedo on a adventure that day. After finding 'an artifact' she basically said "Bye!" And left Albedo alone on Dragonspine for...a long time.

Here's something that might interest you, if you have never heard it already. Zhongli had a deleted voice line, dubbed by Keith Silverstein, sounding fond and reminiscent: "Celestia...Ah. I have not been back in a long time." Doesn't that mean he's from Celestia instead of Teyvat, that's why he says " dwelt in this world" and not " lived" or even " born"? And why Hoyo deleted it?

i would like to believe the shade of space is the sustainer, aka Asmoday, the bi...i mean the goddess we met at the beginning. She could make cubes to seal us in space then also send us to different parts of space, she also came out of a portal. Also another thing, Neuvillette says about visions in his character story friendship level 6 that: "Severely wounded in the great war of vengeance, the usurper had their functions ruined, and could no longer use their absolute authority to suppress the original order of this world. To continue to subdue and control the resentments and loathing of the world, the usurper and one who came after created the Gnoses together. So it came to be that an order was made to be upheld, and thus did humans come to only possess these seven remembrances, and all fragments of the primordial were driven to devour each other." this says the 1st n 2nd desenders made the gnosis using the corpse(?) of the 3rd desender. So there seems to be some confusion, either Ishtaroth rebeled against the primordial one n the 2nd who came thus she wrote those in the book of "Before the sun and the moon" OR they were together but later went for each others throats and Asmody, the primordial ones own shade joined the 2nd who came thus the harbinger of death or if it is Columbina, then that would explain why she joined the fatus while the other 2 shades lost in time(the irony) and the other danced to death.

With Columbina being the Shade of Death and having bird motifs, I can just imagine her taking inspiration or taking elements from the Bird of Hermes.

I don't think that Scaramouche was saying that organic beings would have trouble fighting Columbina, but that her personality is such that people with a conscience, like the Traveler, would have trouble bringing themselves to fight her. Like, imagine of Nahida was a Fatui Harbinger; she's canonically weaker than the Traveller (though with hax that let her oneshot them if she is allowed to get them off), but that's no easy that the Traveler would find it easy to try to stab her in the face like they kept trying to do to Shouki no Kami.

Interesting detail : Columbina's headpiece has wings on it, similar to the wings of an angel, more specifically, a seraph (since there are six wings). In Christan angelogy, seraph / seraphim are the highest ranking angels in the angelic choir hierarchy, being the closest to God. They are the caretakers of God's throne, singing out "holy, holy, holy". This is similar to the First Descender and the 4 shades, being the most high up in the hierarchy. This is just a theory I suppose. If true, I also think that Columbina may have a pyro delusion, as seraph comes from the Hebrew word saraph which means burning

I need you all to check out the achievements from Enkanomiya. Time trial challenges are named after Kairos which is Istaroth the Shade of Time. And then there are 3 more that are super interesting. The one about teleport waypoints is named "the highest authority in land" and they can be kinda related to the Sustainer of Heacenly Principles as the Shade of Space cause we're basically teleporting through space with them. Another one is related to seelies and mentions Phosphoros and I think this could be fitting for King Deshret as it makes so much sense. He was close to Nabu who was a survivor of the seelie race and then later he created that oasis for her and their people to guide them there in the afterlife. He was also always depicted as the sun and was told to have control over all elements. He also strived to obtain the power of the abyss to have the chance to challenge the Celestia. Last one mentions Hesperus and its about opening chests. This might be kind of a stretch but what else do you get in chests but mora. Zhongli created mora and I believe he could be the Shade of Light who was demoted and offered a gnosis (just like Deshret was). Albedo mentions that the earth and soil are the basis of all life so it would make sense for the geo archon to be more than he lets off. He is extremely mysterious after all.

If they ever release the shades/Phanes as characters, imagine if instead of having one of each artifact, you get five feathers, five goblets etc.

Nahida said that the first descender is the heavenly principles who is the primordial one though. The second descender is unknown. We don't know if the second descender usurped or even fought against the heavenly principles. The theory about the shades feel good when put together but there are way too many plot holes and way to many 'ifs'. We haven't met any of the shades nor have heard about them yet. The theory revolves too much about the second descender being the sustainer who usurped the thrones. We have other options for columbina's identity. Goddess of flowers may be born or created by the shade of life but isn't the shade of life just like venti isn't the shade of time. We don't know how gods are born/created but its most likely the four shades who created the gods of teyvat. We know that Egeria, the previous hydro archon, has been created by the shade of life. Its not believable that gold who is a shade will become part of the witch group and be waging war with venti who is a part of the shade of time and then agree to not be enemy with venti. From what we learn, Gold lost control over the art of khemia and that triggered the cataclysm. Its not like she decided to wage war against celestia. We must also consider the importance of the samsara cycles and the descenders. The world quest in Fontaine 4.2 talks about both. This theory is off topic about the four shades but is important when talking about the descenders. Well we learn in one of the new world quests that many are not from teyvat but only few of those can be called descenders. Descenders are the ones who have the power to change and influence fate and the laws of teyvat. Seems logical to explain why lumine is not considered a descender but aether is despite both being twins from beyond the stars. One can change fate while the other cannot. The third descender likely had the ability to do so just like the traveller. That's why we are similar to the third descender. The first descender is the heavenly principles and changed the entirety of teyvat with his four shades. Alice is not considered a descender but yet can travel through different worlds. Maybe each samsara cycle has a descender. The first samsara cycle ended with the heavenly principles fighting against the dragon sovereign. We know that we are living in the last samsara cycle of teyvat since everything will be destroyed in the upcoming calamity. The third descender likely lived in the previous samsara cycle and they changed teyvat with the archon war being also the calamity of the previous samsara. Maybe descenders are summoned to rescue teyvat each samsara since they can change fate. Dainsleif does indicate that the traveller can do so at the end of teyvat travail teaser.

Assuming PO was defeated is wrong. Neuvillette lines make it clear that it defeated the second, then defeated the third, then used the second power to fragment the third and create the Gnosis. But he he lost much power in the process.

I'm no longer sure the 2nd who came fought with Phanes, I think they fought together against something else, because if you're willing to cause a war that destroys an entire planet, why would you then become friends with your opponent and help fix things? it makes no sense. Remember that we just learned that Phanes and the 2nd who came used the remains of the 3rd descender to make the Gnoses, they worked together to fix Teyvat and instituted the Archons to help heal Phanes. I still think the Shade of Life is Zhongli, the Shade of Death is Deshret (he's the one who used a Nail to keep the Orchard of Pairidaeza in stasis), and the shade of Void is the Sustainer.

She cages the twin in a tiny cube of light, she uses cubes (which most media use to represent space or void), she literally appears on the first time out of a void... if she is cursed (black hand) that would explain her going against the other shades... i think ahe is the best candidate for the title

I think Dottore definitely knows about Columbina. They're quite close, as per Winter Night's Lazzo. He definitely knows a LOT about how this game is truly being played, which is possibly why he's being gatekept from us as hard as he is, alongside Columbina.

The shade of Space is most likely asmoday, or The Unknown God. She warps space with her cubes, and opens up portals. She looks and emerges from a portal with a primogem shaped symbol, like the Goblet of Space, even the cubes have the primogems have the symbol on it. Perhaps the second one who came corrupted the Sustainer, which is why her powers are red, and her eyes are goldish.

There's an island near the area where we fish out paimon at the start and that island is related to the time god which at that time people concluded that paimon is the time god So either she is the time god or phanes Not to mention paimon/primordial one oddly sounds similar

Coincidentally I wrote about this topic this morning but I hadn't seen this video yet. Never been a fan of the theory that the artifact pieces correspond to the primordial one and four shade, but I recently came up with really the first piece of in-game evidence of it I would say. Saying that the PO lost the war to 2nd throne seems increasingly unlikely. Lately we've had another sovereign dragon swearing to get revenge on the PO in heaven-- so if the 2nd won then apparently the sovereign dragons don't realize it yet. Wouldn't they know? Wouldn't they be like "Yeah if that PO guy hadn't had his ass kicked that time I'd be out to get him still"? Secondly Neuvillette says (in the Story 5) "And could it not be, he would explain, that King Nibelung had been wrong, and that the black void could only be opposed if all life were to band together as one?" -- and that sounds like Neuvillette is critical of Nibelung's decision to ally with the Abyss and that Neuvillette thinks everyone needs to team up against the Abyss = 2nd throne. Thirdly we now know the PO was part of creating the gnosis system which is the system of current Celestia, so how does that work if current Celestia is the enemy of the PO? Since most people hold to PO winning the war (since Amethyst Crown changed minds) they name Unknown God as the Shade of space. I doubt Columbina is a shade if she's only rank 3. Incidentally my thought about the artifact pieces was this: Before the war only the Primordial One was important and so all artifact sets consisted of one piece - the crown. These are the tiara sets. After the wat the PO is wounded and the 4 lieutenants play more of a role and therefore the artifact sets have five pieces. Every single piece set is chronologically set before the war and every 5 piece set, after the war. Ironically the PCs pray to the spirit of the corresponding artifact to put it on, but since knowledge of the PO and shades is forbidden, they don't know who they are praying to it seems.

You are wrong about one thing. We know that the first Descender is the Heavenly Principles (Primordial One/Phanes). We have absolutely no clue as to who might be the second who came or the Second Descender. Until Fontaine, we weren't even sure about who exactly is ruling Celestia right now. Nahida told us about Heavenly principles when she was talking about the Descenders, she believes heavenly principles is the first Descender. And by Neuvillette's final ascension voiceline, we know that celestia is currently ruled by "The Usurper King of the Heavens".

i’m not sure if you read the glider lore for fontaine, but it’s relevant to the shade of life. it’s implied that either phanes or the shade of life, some time after defeating the soverigns, took the heart of the primordial sea and formed egeria. i think it’s reasonable that the primordial sea, described as being able to give birth to life, would be what the shade of life used to reshape the life of teyvat (given egeria is also made from the primordial sea, and was said to create oceanids)

If we think of rhinedottre as the shade of space or a shade in general, or even just as a person who advanced kaehnri'ah is it a possiblity that she may be the "Abyss queen", the travelers who are the abyss prince/princess do not hold the highest status and we are yet to know who does. even if it isnt rhinedotre (or howevre you spell it) who is the shade of space, could it be whoever was the shade of space is the abyss queen? just a though- it doesnt really make sense tbh.

Gouba is probably a sample case for this, lost volume, memory and power...a husk of its former self.

Seeing how we tend to get more lore dumps when we get another Dains quest, I wouldn't be surprised if we got more 'bread crumbs' so that way whenever we do get all of the ultimate lore drop, it won't be too overwhelming for players to handle. And good plot twist has good foreshadowing and I think Hoyoverse is doing a decent job. My only issue with Paimon being the Primodial one, story wise it makes sense, but gameplay wise? Not so sure. Even when the main story ends and the God of Heavenly principals is the main antagonist and is defeated- what will happen to Paimon if she's primordial one? She's pretty much in charge of our 'pause menu' and you can't merely take her away from that. Hmmm, maybe in the end, there will be no gods and how things are ruled will fall to the people? Who knows. Like I definitely don't think ALL of the Dragons that originally ruled the world are fit to rule those lands like Neuvillette is *looks at Geo dragon*. Also, have we even met all of the Sovereign dragons yet?

for a time I thought zl who also descended, could be a shade. mostly bc of his 6th constellation, which hints at the spirit of gold, which I read that was a son of Zeus. he also has some similar symbology on him and is an emperor so to say(leader of adepti), and it's mentioned he had a golden form, so he could probably represent the yellow dragon too. but idk, this man's real identity is still a mystery. we know only ish remains but maybe it doesn't mean the rest are dead, maybe sth else happened in the past, maybe they faded into the dark, hiding. idk, the humans probably didn't know what happened back then to note it down. not sure if columbina would be a shade, since all harbingers so far seem to be teyvat humans. but only time will tell. I'm thinking more of the hexencirkel to hide a shade amongst them, since it was mentioned they're very strong. i don't think rhinedottr is a shade, tho, since they originate ftom kaenri'ah.

Regarding the 3rd Descender… is it possible that in order to save the 3rd descender from certain death…. Istaroth sent the gnosis into the past? What if our sibling is the 3rd descender but we only see a part of them…. What if the gnosis are their “reason” much like how the traveller is “reason”? Maybe that’s why they align with the abyss in order to fill the void that they have due to the lack of their gnosis…. As to why that would be needed…. I’m guessing it’s to deceive the heaven… by giving the archons gnosis they basically gave away their only chance of being in power… they couldn’t risk keeping them because they are cursed (because the persona aka our sibling is cursed by abyssal power)…. Therefore in the endgame we may be able to restore our sibling’s “reason”

Doesnt rhindotter regret her abyss like creations. If thats the case I dont think she would decievingly help the abyss either even if the goal was to better the other. Given she kniws things can turn ugly i cant see her doing so The goddess of flowers ws a good thought thou. Cause honestly sometimes its like genshin throws you all this terminology and then you hit a region and in specific areas you get conpletely different names and its hard to follow whats what. I have this with innazuma. Im doing the quest slowly i guess lol but when kokomi says between the island tartarsuna ... well that name doesnt show on the map or im not clear which one it is. The orobouro island? No idea and being away from it doesnt help. The goddess of flowers seemed like a minor 3rd character and then we just moved in to nahida earasing her predessesor and had a million details in the desert to find. All of a sudden the goddess of flowers seems a mute point but it always seemed originally like a completely different character to the ones they fleshed out.

I Still strongly believe in the theory that Zhongli is the Shade of Life. He is referenced as the Sun so many times and the Sun is the thing that allows life to exist. Not to forget about his demotion from Celestia for some unknown reason and him suddenly appearing in Teyvat right after the Sun Chariot fell. He also seems to be the only Archon that doesnt hate Celestia and has a mutual agreement rather than a forced one. Maybe the Shade of Life lost all of his powers after creating the Gnoses with the Second Thrones and fell from Grace and just like how Azhdaha was drawn to Tree as it was the source of his power, he too was drawn to Celestia and wanted to become and Archon so badly was the exact same reason.

Your theory of the primordial one being killed or seemingly killed by the sustainer is the best theory thatI’ve heard yet. It makes the most sense when you put it in context with everything else surrounding the fatui’s hate toward celestia and the fact that the fatui aren’t exactly trying to kill or hurt archons or they’ve have done it already. I do think though that they will try to fill that power vacuum if they get their way, or someone within the fatui will because that power would be too tempting.

Maybe Paimon did the same as Nahida. Having been corrupted, she needed to start a new. Edit: Just realized after playing through Hua Taos story quest, she mentioned that life was on the verge of extinction and death came back with a vengeance. That tells us that the shade of death is still around, strengthening the idea of it being Columbina.

When characters die theyre reincarnated. Same with the shades, elynas to melusines, vanessa to diluc. Ect. The only shades around are istaroth who guobad into paimon, and sustainer who is probably shade of space.

There is evidence that the 4 shades are the 4 lost moons of Theyvat. Someone corrupted them so they started to fight each other it is unclear who or why. The only power strong enough to rival heavenly power is the Abyss. But why the shades got corrupted is not clear at all, if the abyss corruption started with that war which seems very likely. It is possible that the future scene we see happening in Sumeru with dottore burning down the tree, either is a different timeline of Sumeru or something that will happen in the future. Irminsul is connected to the Abyss so it makes sense if the corruption comes through the leylines. Now burning down that tree should change this entire world. People will start to remember there previous lives and possibly also how many times they have lived

We know two shades- Istaroth(time) and Kiana(Asmoday)-sustainer. Primordial one= Phanes = heavenly principles. Sustainer of HP= one shade(Asmoday) And Istaroth(venti mom) is second.

My theory is that Surtalogi is the Shade of Life and is allied with Celestia.
