best anti ship missiles in world | The anti-ship missile has come a long way since the crude guided weapons first witnessed during the WW2. After decades of rapid innovation, the end of the Cold War and the subsequent Global War on Terror all but halted anti-ship missile development in the West. A focus on land operations in the Middle East and Central Asia sent Western navies struggling for relevance. As rising tensions with China and Russia make clear ship-to-ship naval warfare is back, And with it, the need to reach out and sink enemy ships. This led to some renewed emphasis on the development and procurement of bigger anti-ship missiles. Most of the new generation of Anti-Ship Missile are stealthy, highly supersonic, and autonomous, and many of them carry large warheads sufficient to inflict a maneuver ki-ll on even the largest targets, and able to saw smaller vessels in half.
Today, we're presenting you guys 5 deadliest Anti-Ship Missiles in the world, both deployed and in development. Let's check it out.
No 1. Brahmos Missile
No 2. Long Range Anti-Ship Missile (LRASM)
No 3. Club 3M-54E1 Anti-Ship Missile
No 4. The XASM-3 Missile
No 5 Naval Strike Missile

LRASM: Being integrated into the P8I Neptune in the future NSM: Being integrated to Indian Navy's MH-60R helicopters Klub: Already available on a few Indian Navy's russian made vessels XASM-3: India is building something very similar to this missile (known as the STAR missile)

We have to rely on accurate and high speed missile s which cannot be intercepted as our immediate enemies are unfortunately close by and we lack in stealth technology like bombers and submarines to go into the enemy territory Hence Agni 5 with mirv is also very critical

You have absolutely no idea of the main reason why the Brahmos is considered the most dangerous Anti Ship missile. It's not the speed of Mach 3, it's not even the fact that it has enough kinetic energy to literally break a destroyer sized ship in half during tests, it's not even the fact that it has an accuracy of 2 meters during testing and as if all this was not enough, it's not even the fact that it has 3 redundant systems of every single electronic part inside it, which means that even if it's jammed or hit by an EMP or 2, it can still keep going as if nothing happened. No. The main reason that Brahmos is so respected and feared is because it has the ability to perform 3 dimensional S Maneuvers in the terminal phase at Mach 3 which makes CIWS systems useless and most Missile defence systems very very difficult to counter it. A missile that flies straight is easy to counter with current technology. But a missile that moves randomly in a Zig Zag manner is very difficult to stop. Especially when it moves at Mach 3.

Neptune is just a copy of the Harpoon and the Moskva was effectively a block ship. By all accounts, the scanning and tracking radars werren't even on, none of the VLS cannister tubes were open and the SA-8 arm launchers had no missiles on them. All of this means that the Russian CG had no emissions and no clue any missiles were incoming, essentially a block ship.

Harald Hadrada would be proud of Norway for the NSM. I am curious how the 5th generation ability works out, no emissions to detect and track targets works out. Most ships want to limit emissions up to the point a war starts, but I would think the NSM isn't really any stealthier than a Harpoon or other existing sea skimmer if ships are emitting constantly and tracked by AWACS or helo radar.

Now india is a member and current brahmos missile has 450+ km range, also 800+ km missile is on the way. Another fact is , I think you forgot about some Chinese and Russian missiles. And don't forget about brahmos II (currently land attack varient is in developing but a naval version will soon follow the land version) ,But when it comes out it will be best anti ship missile like the brahmos I once where. It will not take too long before a LASER system is capable of detecting & track & destroy these deadly toys. Such a LASER defense is already existing for relative slow moving targets, matter of time to adapt it for mach speed moving targets.
@death_parade
@death_parade Жыл бұрын
The issue is not the mach speed moving target but the power of the laser needed to defeat such targets. I said targets. Multiple. Meaning the laser needs to be able to dish out multiple shots to take out a swarm of these.
@ses4068
@ses4068 Жыл бұрын
@@death_parade Matter of time... Really, if it already exists for more than 20 years and perfected for drones, it's a matter of time to develop a mega joule LASER for the exact same purpose, but for multiple high speed targets. Surely, that extrapolation wasn't that difficult to do, right? Not for me anyway. The higher the LASER output, the less time it needs to spend destroying a target, the more targets, multiple LASERs can destroy. EDIT: high power laser nozzles don't need to rotate fast, if you have a perfect flat to the nano-meter, light weight and water cooled mirror, it can move and direct the laser light much faster than the probably bulky LASER unit.

All top 5 anti ship missile has its own rights to be 4th-5th gen missile, up to this date Ukraine's Neptune anti ship made its Mark and was proven effective for 200km to this date, specifications is a bit modest but proven lethal otherwise I would like to see future generations of its improvement the name speaks for itself Neptune 🔱🔱🔱

Reaction time can be increased by detecting the missile at launch, mid flight phase. Am sure technology to track these missiles exists thanks to military satellites up there, so no one can claim the element of surprise.
@death_parade
@death_parade Жыл бұрын
Pffffft. Hilarious. Good luck trying to track a cruise missile via a satellite. Ask the Americans who are having trouble creating satellites that can do that to hypersonic missiles. Then understand that a supersonic cruise missile would have a MUCH smaller IIR signature, making it impossible even for the satellites that the most powerful and advanced nation plans to field in the near future.

It has already been tested I believe off of underwater pontoons, the only limitation is that no current sub can carry the Brahmos as no current sub has vertical launch tubes built for cruise missiles, though maybe the Arihant class SSBN could maybe fire it but it is built for carrying nuclear ballistic missiles. Unlike other sub launched cruise missiles like the Harpoon or Klub, the Brahmos is wider than 533cm and so cannot fit into a standard torpedo tube of a submarine which is why the only sub launched missiles we have are the Klub used on the Sindhughosh/Kilo class sub, the Harpoon Block-2 used on our Shishumar/Hs209 class and the Exocet missile used off of our Kalvari/Scorpene class subs. Which is why the Indian Navy did not go ahead with more Scorpenes but rather opted for the P75I project which will have vertical launch tubes big enough to carry Brahmos and maybe even Nirbhay missile in the future.

@@theindianagenda5819 Not holding my breath for VLS on P-75I at this point. Most likely, we'll have to go indigenous route with the P-76 SSKs. Work on developing P-76 already seems to have started with the Navy calling for pumpjet propulsors that can propel 5000 ton boats.
