PSA: I understand that not everyone has access to mental health supports (so some help is better than none), but from my understanding not everyone who works as a counselor for better help is qualified to work as a therapist. I just want to let people know, because if there's anyone like myself who had more complex support needs regarding their mental health, using better help could actually make what you're going through worse! I've never used better help (because I'm lucky enough to live in a country with free healthcare), but before I was properly diagnosed I was seeing qualified psychologists who didn't specialise in my condition. Even with all of their expertise and experience, these psychologists provided me with advice that was irrelevant and actually not advisable with my condition. I'm just saying psychology and support are complicated things, so if you use better help please check what qualifications the person you're talking to has! And if what you're experiencing is extreme, I would suggest seeking support elsewhere if you can.

I love this gentle reminder that planning is meant to be a supportive, grounding activity - not a source of stress! Sometimes I get caught up in planner discontent but now I want to try think more positively about my planners and celebrate all the things I appreciate about them. :)
@AmandasFavorites3 ай бұрын
That is a really good way to look at it Sarah:) The planner is there to serve us...sometimes we just have to brainstorm how it can help us best in each season of our life.

Amanda, you have hands down the best planning channel in my opinion and always offer very useful tips. I’ve watched you for many years, and you always continue to offer something I had not considered before. While watching this video, it occurred to me that I have always overlooked memory keeping and in fact, I think it would be valuable for me to see the things I have accomplished that may be actually weren’t on my daily plans.

So many takeaways from this gem of a video! Love how you use your goal planner to make sure you’re fitting in self-care and want-to-dos, not just achievements. The visual of a little me crossing each square as I conquer each day on a monthly is adorable. Such a fun way to look at it! Your #1 way to use planners for better mental health is also mine. 💛

Yes... I agree with you. I live getting in with washi and stickers and making my.planner "happy". I've also been using washi to help organize my planner in a way that makes more sense for the page layout.

Anxiety hit me for the first time ever when menopause hit. Actually that was my only symptom! To help my mental health I started a great morning routine which included making a daily planner page where I have 3 sections titled “personal”, “home” and “away”. Under personal, I list things like read a devotional, copy scripture, read a book/magazine, and go for a walk. Under home I list any scheduled phone/work from home appointments as well as any tasks/chores I need to do at home as well as list what’s for dinner (mostly to remind me to make it! 😂). Under away, I list any scheduled appointments for the day (which I get off my digital calendar on my phone) as well as any errands away from the house. I always look at the day before to see if something didn’t get done that needs to be forwarded to today. Part of my devotional time is writing in a 5-section spiral notebook, my prayer requests, answered prayers (so good to go back and read over these!), where I copy my scripture, and write “what’s going right” which is my way of wording for a gratitude journal. Of course I’m grateful for these things, but I like the wording “what’s going right” because I usually focus on “what’s going wrong “. Hope this comment also helps someone! 😃

Amanda this video is great! And perfect timing! May is. Mental Health Awareness month. It would be hard for me to choose just 1 of these 5 that help me the most so I’m going to choose 2 for certain- #5 (journaling) & #1 (daily or weekly planning). I can’t imagine not being able to put my thoughts down on paper! Great video! I’m a newer follower/subscriber and I’m enjoying your content so much! 🥰🩷✨🎉👏

Just a share regarding memory keeping. My daughter is getting married in 2025. I bought the EC wedding planner (I am the planner as she is in Ph.D. Program). I am turning this into a memory book for her. I used my zip printer to print pics of dress day shopping, and have put the save the date card and invitation in. I am very hopeful this will be more treasured by her than a traditional memory book which she has declined, asking for an acid free photo album instead. If it wasn’t for Amanda and her memory keeping in EC planners, I would have never thought of this. Next memory will be a hair makeover at a high end salon!

Great video Amanda! I'm a planner user and have been all my life. I need to see monthly and weekly what I need to do or want to do. I have been using a Hobonichi Cousin for several years, but purchased a Colibri weekly planner and a Passion planner that start in June and July so will be trying something different. In addition to planning, I want to incorporate gratitude and scripture writing daily so how I use each planner needs to be worked out because June will be here before we know it. Take care!

If not a specific book or planner you can also look up for journal prompts on general journaling or gratitude and printing them out and adding to ur favorite planner. Can be daily ones or you can see them as optional list. Of course that's if you already have your planner peace planner but want to add in journaling. The recommendations made in the vid is great inspiration for me to add in gratitude journaling into mine. Love all these tips!!

I loved this video!! My two favorite tools are goal planning and just using my planner. Using my Laurel Denise for my goal planning is working so well for me this year. I'm still on board with it after almost five months. And I agree that it is so, so important to add fun/personal goals. That is something I am really working on doing this year. Also, I love what you said about looking at your planner like a game board! That is such a great visual! I'm definitely going to start doing that. As far as reflections go, I haven't loved reflections in the past, but my Passion Planner is changing that. I don't know what it is about the questions, but it makes me want to answer them, and I don't feel like I'm putting the same answers month after month. I've really come to appreciate it what a great planner it is (despite all that black and gray 😂).

I had to laugh at the Passion Planner comment Jana....LOL...because we feel so much the same;) I agree about the Passion Planner questions...usually my reflection is more just my own journaling - usually in my spiritual journal...but I don't do it enough. And I like the PP questions too. I love the LD mini project planner is working so well for your goals. We both seem "settled" right now...let's see how long it lasts;) LOL. xxx
