10 out of 10! Possibly the most horrifying video I've seen this year. Full of shocking jumpscares where it felt as if the loafers were going to reach through the screen and wind up on my feet. I seriously had to watch this with the lights on. Thank god loafers aren't real. They cant hurt me.

Edit: BTW, for my money, "Blackstock and Weber" make the best chunky loafers. They come in both rubber or leather soles, and they have great leathers and construction. I own the leather-soled horsebits in brown, and I find it casual enough to work with jeans and a white t shirt, and dressy enough to wear it with khakis and a harris tweed blazer.

I have a different pair of Beckett Simonon loafers, their Beaumont horsebit in a brown suede. Big fan of those. They're fairly slim which I like in a loafer, and they dress up a pair of shorts, jeans, or slacks nicely. Wouldn't wear with a suit though. Good summer shoe.

I prefer 8" boots kn the winter, so for summer if I'm not just wearing my Woobies mod 1 low top sneakers I just wear 6" moc toes. That being said I am kind of thinking of getting a pair of Chukkas, but I need to find the right option that's utilitarian and not dressy. As a blue collar guy, I just can't do loafers. I've seen some I liked the look of, but just aren't something I'd ever wear.

I have sent to make some moccasins, similar to the Moroccan Traditional Babouches, the tone is like cream. A yellowish gray, like the old white apparatuses that changed color over the years. What happens is that it is difficult to combine them, because women wear a dress or a petticoat, they combine them with the skin; it is difficult to fit it with the right pants.

Another nice video with a new locale. I used to wear Pennies back in the day. 44 yrs ago in high school. Bass Weejuns where the shoe back then. Could not bring myself to go sockless...Thinking about maybe gettting a new pair again. I am wondering, do you still put a penny in the slot in this day and age?

What would you recommend in terms of sizing for the Grant Stone Traveler Penny Loafer's? I usually wear a 9G AU/UK in RMW Comfort Craftsman. Does that mean I'd need to choose 9.5D (I'm assuming their's is based on US sizing) when ordering on their website?

Nice rundown, but I had a couple questions: 1) Is the Oak Street made by Rancourt? And would you consider rancourts to be roughly the same quality? 2) Lined versus unlined. I have a pair of Thursdays sneakers, which are lined with leather. If I wear them without socks, I get blisters on my heel. Do unlined loafers help to prevent blisters?

1) Yes and yes! 2) Every loafer wearing dude I know goes sockless without complaint. Possibility it's a little hard for the first couple weeks but generally I think that's more to do with the famously stiff Thursday sneaker heel than with lined/unlined

As mentioned previously, the Oak Street is made in Maine by Rancourt. Given that, I'd recommend purchasing straight from Rancourt. Their weltline penny loafer is, to my eye, more elegant than the beefroll option, and it comes in three different colors. They also offer a horsebit loafer that is a little more akin to the classic Gucci loafer.

The Oak Street one looks awesome, but the heel is just way too high for me. I think the Grant Stone is more subtle, which I prefer. On that note, I just ordered the Storm Suede loafer!

I'm not normally a fan of loafers, but I like the Astorflex and can see me wearing them in summer. As you probably know, loafers aren't big in Australia where thongs (flip flops to non-Aussies) reign in the warm weather, so I've been wearing canvas boat shoes for the last few years, but these are in with a chance to replace them when they die, so thanks!

The Oak Street's I'm a whole size down from Brannock, most of the others I'm down half a size. I think Allen Edmonds is true to size, I put notes onscreen for each with regard to sizing but it's also in the article stridewise.com/best-loafers-for-men/

You actually forgot the best chunky loafer ever made (IMO) the Paraboot Reims Loafer! However I do agree that the Fuentes by Beckett Simonon is nice, it just doesn't beat the Reims from Paraboot.

Whats the deal with ”made in america” as a plus? Many great shoe brands are european (often british). The real value is in quality regardless of where they are made, in my mind at least. :)

Nah I agree, there are just a lot of guys who prioritize it so I mention it in case it's important to a viewer. Plus when comparing Grant Stone and Oak Street it can suggest better value if the American made one is cheaper
