I tore both of my ACLs had both repaired my right was a pettla graft, my left is a quad graft. Minor meniscus tear in the right knee. I am 21. I don't want a knee replacement when I get old, so how can I prevent the need for it. I have bowed knees, too. I am a powerlifter, so I am still fairly active, but I don't wanna run any more unless absolutely necessary because I don't wanna arthritis to kick in. I am a welder, and squatting is very necessary kinda afraid this is gonna cause me to retire at 40 due to knee pain.

I was getting cortisone injections every four months for about three years. I am 80 years old, and I have osteoarthritis in both knees , especially, in my left knee. I decided to treat myself by way of exercise, walking, stretching, and turmeric. I only have pain if I am idle for long periods. Otherwise, Bob and Brad, and the other methods I mentioned have kept me away from the injections for two years.

@ James Miller .... How you use turmeric for knee osteoarthritis
@jamesmiller3816
@jamesmiller3816 2 жыл бұрын
@@ps-mm5bs As I stated earlier, it was a long, and tedious undertaking; I lost some much needed weight, I stopped eating a lot of inflammatory foods, I got deep tissue massages, semi-regular acupuncture treatments, daily walks, exercises, and I ingested Turmeric Curcummin on a daily basis. I also took warm to hot baths in Himalayan salt. I cannot, and I will not say that I don’t have discomfort in my knees from time to time, but I am to manage it. With regard to the Tumeric, I put it in my food, I take it in pill form, and I use it as a base to put on my knees. I don’t drink alcohol, smoke, or eat a lot of sugary foods, or salt. I hope this long narrative has answered your question.

My knees were so bad they would get stuck. I had my right one replaced, got a staph infection in it, had knee replacement removed, cement antibiotic block put in for 8 weeks, with 6 weeks of antibiotic iv's twice a day, then a replaced with a new knee. Had my left one replaced it was a breeze. I am 100% happy now, but it was a long long painful process!

I had severe left knee issues since I was about 13-14yrs old. I used to skate and play a lot of hockey, and suddenly things started to get really bad. sharp pains, walking funny. It was horrible. So bad that in Jr High the PE teacher and school banned me from PE so I had to take an elective to pass, and that kicked me out of sports, and all through high school, same thing.. Went to many dr's, specialists, urgent cares. for 20yrs off and on. It got so bad I went to a orthopedic specialist at our university that gave me an mri on it, found nothing. Knew I had nerve/feeling problems, and it effected my walking so she prescribed me a cane (so my insurance would cover it).. used it for a year.. Ended up going to a chiropractor who ordered an Xray on my whole back just so she knew what she was up against, or what not to do.. Found a type of fracture in my L5. For some reason refused to work on me. So I found someone that would. She mainly worked on my neck and upper back because I have "military neck"... ended up leaving her because she was the "pop and pray" kind of lady of "lets just pop it and hope it works". Ended up at a new clinic in a different town. This guy checked my charts, xrays, medical history. and gave me a once over treatment first day we met. had me come back a few days later, did another one... After 3 visits. My leg got better. I ditched the cane, could walk up stairs unassisted, can run, jump and play again.. all because there was a nerve and muscle problem caused by my lower back, and he fixed it. I lost 20yrs of sports, and fun, and living. and just going out. because not 1 doctor or specialist thought to check my back... I'm still extremely mad about that. however. At least I can walk again without a single bit of pain. now and again I go see him he does the once over, and checks my lower back to make sure it's still all in place, gave me stretches to do to keep everything in place.. For over 2yrs now. I haven't had a single issue.. now if it starts to ache. I do the stretches, sometimes get a wee little pop and everythings fine.. Sorry this is so long but 20yrs of doctors and specialist. and it took a sports medicine chiropractor to pin point it... wasn't even the knee at all. my knees are 100%.. all because of my back and a fracture I got some how when I was younger...

Bob, I am sorry about your mouth issues causing you slurring challenges. My sister due to a thyroid tumour (benign, thank God) surgery has a paralyzed vocal chord. She works hard everyday to learn to speak clearly and for longer. People need to know that dental issues, jaw bone, other health challenges can cause slurring. Wishing you continued improving health. People be kind! I love your videos and you and Brad have helped me so much. I walk without a cane now. You were a huge part of getting me there.

I wore a custom made knee brace for 3 years, had cortisone shots, the "thicker" shots and pt. Finally couldn't take it and talked to the surgeon. The x-ray showed a shadow, mri showed dead bone. Here I am; 4 weeks after a tkr and I feel like I had my leg cut off! Pt-ing like crazy!

I had an operation on my knee due to a torn meniscus. I tried to put it off for as long as I could but the knee was locking and was very painful. I tried exercises which helped a little but didn't get rid of the locking or the pain, so in the end I had no choice but to go for the op which was key hole surgery to remove the tear. It was fine, but now, a few months later, I have noticed what I can only describe as a small pocket of gel, maybe liquid, on the top of my knee cap. It's not painful but I can feel it if I touch it. It's like a small soft gel pack about 2 inches in size. Anyone have any idea what it could be.

I knew I had slipped my knee swelled and bruised and it was the inside, he just wouldn't listen. So I went for an MRI and sure enough I had a grade 2 sprain of my MCL and it was Not my arthritis. Which by the way I've had for years and years and it doesn't bother me.

I am 54, have bone on bone arthritis in the medial part of both of my knees, the middle part is mostly worn, and the outer part not even half worn. I can’t walk without limping, it hurts to walk more than a block, have slightly bowed legs, can’t run at all, my knees rarely hurt when sitting still, exercise on an elliptical cross trainer 30-45 minutes 4-5 days a week, and ski with no problem. But I work a job as a chef limping throughout the day and have to sit down frequently because of the pain. I didn’t have any bad pain until I was about 45-46, take Celebrex daily, but by the time I was 50-51, running was impossible. What do you think I should do? I don’t want surgery!

A Physician Assistant that’s an orthopedist in the military bluntly told me I need my knees replaced and nothing else can be done except cortisone injections to help the pain. I’m only 54, 6 feet tall, weigh 190 pounds, work out on a cross trainer 4-5 days a week for 30-45 minutes, ski with no problem in the winter, but can’t walk more than a block without it hurting, nor walk without a limp, legs are slightly bowed, but have little or no pain sitting still unless I’ve been on my feet all day. Synvisc injections didn’t do a thing and cortisone puts a bandaid on it. I think I can wait a while or maybe hope for better ways to take care of them and deal with it. Only the medial part is bone on bone. Acupuncture helps for maybe a day or two. Any thoughts?

After years of PT ,scopes and shots and not being able to sleep or get through the day without NSAIDS and Nights again with NSAIDS and sleeping aids till I couldn't put pressure and stand on my left knee I had TNR on left knee last July. and right in Aug. Left knee took 3 months and it is good right knee has taken a full year to get nearly pain free after going through piriformis syndrome (thanks Bob and Brad for the video on that and using the t massager worked it out) and other knee nerve pain. I have 130 degree plus movement on both and walk ,climb stairs pain free .Going down stairs can still be painful at the knee cap. Can kneel on them with pad pain free. But after a year of the right knee nerve pain on the right side it has finally gotten to where I can sleep all night and get through the day without medication. Is it perfect nope but would I do it again yep.

I had x-rays by 2 different Dr's my then general practice Dr and an orthopedic surgeon they both said we are going to give you 2 new knees and 2 new hips! I said like hell lol I started doing research found you guys and bunch of others that I listen to as well and my knees are somewhat better not catching anymore and 1 hip has improved but 1 I'm trying really hard to get it back but it has actually turned my whole leg outward it's not as painful as it was but I'm noticing it's turning out even more. I'm super paranoid to have my bone cut (I already have MS) I feel that's how things (more illnesses) really get deep in ya and take root and ya you can't recover from that. Plus I'm 53 and I've heard hips don't last but probably 10 years. I come from a family where women live way into their 90's, that's potentially 4 hip surgeries before I croak!

Hello Bob and Brad. Im hoping to find someone who will tell my husband the incredible risks he is facing for his knee replacement surgery. Hes insisting getting his replacement now. He is 57 years old, 5 foot 10 inches and 340 pounds. Im trying to get him to understand he needs to lose weight before his surgery. He found a surgeon who will do his knee at his weight which i find insanely irresponsible. My husband doesnt understand the weight put on his leg bones after his surgery will surely collapse and he may lose his leg. He refuses to believe his weight maters and believes it will be fine. Hes been this weight his entire adult life and at time much heavier so his weight gain is not from being injured on his knee. I dont know what else to do. His dr even said he will do both knees at once! If he lost weight before this surgery it would surely relieve so much pain and pressure. And if it didnt his knee replacement will face better results instead of probably tragic. Do you have any reference info I could show him?

First question is Does He Want to lose weight? You cannot make or force anyone to lose it.if he is ready and willing then food is key. I’d say almost 80% of losing weight is going to be due to what you put in your mouth. The rest of the weight may be modified or lost by habit and lifestyle changes
