Sad to see though that unlike real vampires the band got old and wrinkly. There's nothing wrong with that, it's the natural order of things, it's just that it makes you remember that you too aren't young anymore.

This is one of those bands that never really lost their spark. The band is ancient, but this is just as good as anything they've ever put out in their prime.

The Fields of the Nephilim have moved into the metal genre long ago and are thus not exactly comparable anymore, though I like what they do. I don't think it's necessary to hate on The 69 Eyes if you don't like them. Just don't listen to them. I have been a fan of the band for 23 years and stand by my comment above. Everyone who knows a bit about traditional 80s Goth Rock and overall synth sounds of pop music at that time will understand what I said.

@@06Yvonne06 I do know what you´re sayin too! I´ve got the debut Album and a couple of their releases too. I´ve liked them in their beginnings. But fact is: The 69 Eyes are very much influenced by Type o Negative, FOTN, TSOM and the rock/gloomy side of Goth! In my Opinon, they´ve never had an authentic style. I like them and I don´t understand why do u think, I would hate them! They are a good copy of some legendary Gothrock-Icons. So what ?

Well, they were influenced by those bands you mentioned, that's true. But still, they have their own, very "finnish", cool vibe, which is totally recognizable. I'd never confused their sound with any other band. So yeah, in my opinion they are special.
