I saw one of your first vacuuming videos. Your videos dramatically changed my quality of life pretty quickly, and soon I was teaching the people around me how to take better care of their homes. Last December, I started a cleaning company. One vacuuming video has led to dozens of lives improved.

I have a very difficult time getting started cleaning because of depression. And of course a dirty house makes depression worse. Watching a video of someone cleaning the room I want to clean helps me get going.

I’m a woman in my 40’s. Growing up I lived with my mom and grandmother. They did all the cleaning. I mean I had simple chores occasionally but nothing consistent. Once I moved out I felt like something was wrong with me. I felt like a slob who couldn’t get it together and at the same time felt like I did NOTHING but clean my house allllll the time. I watched your video once by chance just to get motivated. But something even better happened! I finally learned how to clean. I used to spend a whole day cleaning before a family party, such as Thanksgiving, in order to get my house “company” ready. But now it only takes about an hour to get “company” ready. My house is easily immaculate now when I used to put blood, sweat, and tears into my routine. I would destroy the rest of the house when I was cleaning just one room. I’m also a DIY junkie. All natural makes me feel so happy. I also love the essential oils added to the mix. I love to clean now because it looks so amazingly satisfying and clean! Looking forward to learning how to start a business! Sign me up!

Been subscribed about a year. I was sitting on my backside one Saturday morning, drinking coffee and youtubing. I knew I had bathrooms to clean, but just wasn't motivated, so I searched "bathroom cleaning" in youtube and CMS appeared. I watched the bathroom video, went and cleaned all my bathrooms, then I binged watched a ton of your vids! I bought the Makers Clean microfiber cloths, some essential oils and spray bottles, I am perpetually stocked up on vinegar and baking soda, and my house is in great shape now! Congrats on the 1M subscribers - love the CMS team!! BTW, I still watch your vids for motivation...

I was feeling yucky with two little kids and my husband in full time school and my home getting overwhelmingly filthy even though I enjoy cleaning. I searched for some cleaning motivation and discovered your video about how to clean a refrigerator. I felt so good and jumped up and thoroughly cleaned it in under half an hour which is record time using your method. That officially got me hooked. You changed the way I clean. After that I cleaned professionally for some neighbors for two years and I was extremely wanted. I got a few other people hooked on your videos and my family and friends know YOU as my cleaning guru. It's been about four years since I got started. There is no other channel on KZfaq that I have stuck with for this long.

I subscribed about 6 years ago I think, and I can't remember what the first video that drew me in was, probably a laundry one lol but I watch and learn consistently, my parents taught me what they knew, but cleaning has evolved so much since then, we never had a dishwasher and they never cleaned the washing machine, dryer, mattresses, never had mattress or pillow protectors etc... some of my friends say I'm ott or ocd lol and I'm so proud! I ALWAYS talk about your channel and often share videos on my Facebook account, I love the brutal frankness that is delivered in such a humble way, you always make me feel that yeah, houses get dirty, that's just what happens, and it's ok because there's a solution for everything and you show me how it's done, including the recipes for the cleaners you use. Between you and Clutterbug I've got my housework nailed!! Thank you so much for what you do, even creepy Carl haha! And it's so beautiful to see your family and HQ grow! ❤❤❤

I have been cleaning the sink drain on the outside. Not the inside the way you do it. For the inside I take baking soda and vinegar. It helps cut the grease. There are cleaners that are stronger that plumber's use such as liquid drainer. Industrial strength. A 25 dollar investment. I have cleaned outside and behind the stove. Don't forget to lift the lid on the stove and clean it too. Same solution you cleaned with. Great idea for fridge, don't forget to clean the drawers and shelves and bottom on the inside. Fridges can become big germ breeders. Hope those tips help someone with deep cleaning. Don't forget to scrub handles and spouts on sinks and soap dispenser spouts.

Would and industrial strength drain cleaner work for hair and soap scum? Our shower has a wide hole with the drain cover screwed tightly to the floor. It would be very difficult to get the cover off and the holes in the cover are too small to fit a snake through, much less a big glob of hair and scum. We’re the 3rd family who’s lived in the home and sometimes the drain smells not so fresh. I’m sure there is some nasty stuff lurking.

I really hope you see this!! I live in an older house and this is going to be a tad gross but how do I clean a range hood AND cabinets with years of dust and grease build up? I’m always able to get tiny amounts off before it starts to get very difficult. Then with the cabinets I start scrubbing so hard the finish starts to come off! It’s driving me nuts!

@Siansonea
@Siansonea 5 жыл бұрын
This is such a tricky area. Have you considered just replacing the whole thing? I know the filter is easily cleaned by soaking it in OxyClean, and you might consider using a bit of OxyClean mixed with dish soap or something that will cling to the surfaces, and see if that cuts through the grease. You should never rely on 'elbow grease' to remove dirt and buildup, if you're using the right product, it should come off without harming the surface finish. If you don't want to replace the unit, it might be good to take it out and clean it, rather than try to clean it in place. If you are handy with electrical stuff or you know someone who is, have them uninstall the unit, and maybe have the electrical components cleaned by someone who knows how to remove grease from all those components inside the unit. You can focus your own efforts on cleaning the housing, which will be a lot easier if you can work on it on a table or something. But like I said, sometimes the better part of valor is to simply replace the unit altogether, range hoods aren't usually big ticket items I don't think.

Pro house cleaner here. I thoroughly spray the grease with concentrated cleaner - I like rubbing alcohol and Dawn and let it sit for a min. I then apply a powdered cleanser like BKF with a sponge, rubbing it into the grease. If the grease isn't easily coming up yet, let it sit while I work on something else. I work with the spray on hand to keep the powder from getting too dry. Think about it this way: to clean anything, you need enough solvent/lubrication to loosen up the bonds holding the grime to the surface, and you need somewhere for it to go - a sponge, cloth, or paper towel. For grease cleaning use a paper towels. The above method should get you at least most of the way there with little-to-moderate elbow grease. If I need more product after by BKF initial clean, I'll use Goo Gone and a melamine sponge. These products are ringers. They're messy and a little wasteful to use for cleaning a whole mess, so I only bring them in if my first method doesn't 100% work.
@lesleelisnek6828
@lesleelisnek6828 5 жыл бұрын
Note: don't use BKF on wood, just your range hood. Wood needs Goo Gone. Apply with a paper towel. Oh, and use a plastic scraper! Rather than trying to remove the grease from top layer down, like you're filing a nail, a scraper will loosen the bonds below the grease, separating it from the wood.

I came to your channel, because I love to clean. I stayed because YOU are a relaxing presenter (not loud or excitedly speed talking, that stuff agitates me) and I have learned ways to make my daily cleaning simpler and I am a paraplegic so simple is important.

Wow!! 1 Million!! Congratulations! My first video was the one on how to clean a mattress pointed out to me on Pinterest. I guess Pinterest knew that I needed help with my cleaning. Honestly, your channel taught me how to clean and turned the hated task into a rewarding one. It doesn't take me as long to clean as before and my space is soooo much cleaner now! Thanks so much for sharing your tipps and tricks for a cleaner life :) Keep making videos!

I don't remember what led me here, but it was about 2 1/2 years ago, right after I moved from Toronto to Vancouver. When I realized you were in Toronto, I was sad that I didn't find you sooner. I would have loved to have met you! Feeling pretty proud of myself because I actually clean everything on this list every now and then. And proud of you guys too! You do an awesome job with this channel. Congrats!

I subscribed maybe a year ago. But your book really changed my daily life. I thought it didn't matter what tools I used or how I took care of them. Because of this, when I cleaned- I was disappointed with the results. Now I have microfiber cloths and clean much more often using your techniques. It's more satisfying because they work faster and with less effort. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, it has made a big difference for me.

I think it's been about 3 years! I started following when I was in college and you had videos about cleaning small spaces... but these videos have helped me as I scaled up to an apartment and then a house! (Wow that's a lot of change!) My favorite part about these videos is the motivation to get cleaning, but I can also proudly say that I now make all my cleaning supplies following your diys!! Thanks so much!!

Not sure, but I think I have been watching you for around 5 years. I think the first video I may have watched was when I was searching for a cleaning video for my moldy washer. Had been doing laundry for about 40 years, raised two children and never experienced this. I ended up getting a new washer, but thanks to you I now know how to take care of it. Congratulations on the one million subscribers.

I think I subscribed about 2 years ago. I was sick in bed and bored while I was recovering and watched KZfaq to pass the time. I came across Marie Kondo and even before I was well I started decluttering the mess that had driven me mad for years. Then I saw the dirt underneath it and went back to KZfaq and found you.

First video I watched was "How To Clean a Dishwasher," about 4 years ago. Then I moved in with my husband and we used the CMS cleaning method (start in one corner and move clockwise) to learn how to efficiently clean together. Now Im 6 months pregnant, and your baby videos are great for helping me prepare for baby. You guys have been a wonderful source of information for my home management skills! I thankyou very much, and plan on passing these great cleaning habits to my kiddos!

Four years ago I moved with my husband to our first apartment together. And for the first time - I had furniture and stuff that were mine (i.e not my parents'), so I figured that 1 - I should probably maintain them because they cost money. 2 - I have no idea how to do it. So I youtubed it and - there you are! I was hooked ever since!
