The 70’s hair tutorial/blowout of your ✨ dreams✨ I don’t know why it died down but it needs to come back ASAP. This entire decade was nothing but body, volume and gravity-defying hair. I love it.

Beautiful. 70’s hair was its own special thing for sure. Please don’t feel bad if you can’t get your hair to do this, keep in mind that back then, EVERYONE had a perm, Men too, that’s how they got this style so easily. I know because my mom was a Prof. hairstylist back then & she specialized in perms. She herself had a perm, even though she had naturally very curly hair. I very vividly remember these looks, the products & techniques used. I remember her getting all dolled up with a BIG blowout to go disco dancing 😆 I even have a glamour shot of her where she had the whole look going on, bangs, blue satin disco dress, BIG shiny black curls, a full beat of Mary Kay cosmetics… I remember it so vividly. Later in life I myself tried to recreate the curls to no avail, i have stick straight hair that will NOT hold a curl. So I just appreciate from a distance. Men absolutely love this look too, I’ll tell you that much. The first & second wig shown, perfection, just like that.

Speaking of men, not exactly the same, but my dad has naturally curly hair he wore long back then and it looked like he had a perm. I remember seeing pictures of him as a teenager and being like, “Your hair looks permed~” “It’s just like that-”

That’s my haircut. It makes doing this blow out almost effortless. I usually let my hair air dry in it’s curly state, but I also love this full 70s blowout. I always get comments on it.

Spray shine spray on the brush before brushing out the curls. They will lay smoother, then you can go back in and choose where you want your “poof” to be.

Genuine question: Why is it called a blowout? I thought a blowout was, by definition, created with a blow dryer. I first heard the term in the 90s from curly or wavy girls trying to get that smooth straight Rachel hair, but more recently I have seen blowouts with a wave or curl created by a round brush. I could see calling Farrah Fawcett feathered hair a blowout, because that does require a blow dryer (and also a specific layered cut), but not the big bouncy curls like this. Am I wrong here?

You can do big bouncy hair like this with a blowdryer too and with these curls you're mimicking that. Curling and brushing out your hair is a lot easier than blowdrying your hair with a round brush especially ifyou want curls like that (: I hope that helps

I love love this, since ik u do research do well could u do an information style video on cuts and opinions that suit this style also for shorter bobs etc, like curling basics too. I'm over here struggling pinning up my hair w the clips and getting it to stay let alone trying to use a heat roller
