Yesterday we attended the Michelin Pilot Performance tests in Estoril where we drove around 20 supercars fitted with the full range of Michelin High-Performance tyres.
One of the cars present was the 700 bhp Gumpert Apollo S, which currently holds the fastest production car lap of the Nurburgring on 'road tyres' (Michelin Super Sports). It uses a twin-turbo version of the 4.2-litre Audi RS4 V8 engine.
Although some would debate its 'road car' credentials, it's lap time of 7 min 11 seconds is undeniably 'very' quick.
