I wanted to get my own saw and I was tired of buying used equipment so I decided to watch how much I spent. I bought this clone of a Husqvarna 450 rancher. It is also basically the same as a blue max chainsaw and the old Husqvarna 55. Paid $77.66 shipped to my door. I put it together. Mixed the gas. Put gas and oil in it. She started right up. It took a while the first time because it had to pull all the gas thru lines and into the carb. Once warm it started on the first pull. Cold it took about 7 pulls. I tried it out on a big maple tree. Sorry I didn't have anything that was fresh to cut. This tree was one job that I didn't finish cleaning up years ago so I wanted to finish this before I cut down another tree, which means making another big mess. Lol. I can not say how long the saw will last because I haven't had it for that long. I'm not a professional but do know a thing or two about chainsaws and chainsaw maintenance. It takes 25 to 1 fuel/oil mixture. I am pleased with the saw at the time of the video. That may change if something goes wrong with it. I will have more videos of this saw to come.

This young man, made a very informative video, with a purchase he made, with the money he had to spend. He mentioned this from the start. Old and young alike can take a lesson from this video, which is only buy what you can afford. Our countries would be in much better shape if we followed this young mans criteria. IMHO. Thank you for the video and information Sir.

I enjoy your video reviews. A down to earth real good personality with no loud music or sensationalism. I own approximately 15 chainsaws, all 20 inch and less. Would like a 24 or larger bar that I can afford. Any suggestions for a chinese saw reasonably priced? Thank you Keep up the good work, and I will be watching! All the best from New Rochelle N.Y.

Quite a valid saw when you consider the price. The starter is weak, they must always be in stock. After a longer period of inactivity, it is easier to start by applying a small amount of fuel or carburetor cleaner under the air filter. 😉

It looks the same like a chainsaw which my grandfather bought somewhere in 1991 in Austria, but cannot remember the brand. It was working well for more than two decades. Now we have a Stihl, with which some flaws appeared even after only five years of occasional use.

John Doe Couldn't agree more. If it gets damaged, broken, or stolen it's not a $500-1500 saw down the drain. This saw costs less than a tank of gas for a lot of people. That sure puts things into perspective. People can talk all they want but until they put up a video with visual facts like I did, what they say doesn't mean anything to me.

@@bobbyhempel1513 That appears to be a much stronger comment than this situation deserves. Wal-Mart, in the 1980s had much better products than they have now. Let me tell you something else...Bentonville has destroyed companies by their strong arm tactics. Pillotex was the parent company of Cannon and Fieldcrest who made mostly towels, washcloths, hand towels, and bedsheets. Fieldcrest was the house brand for Fields department stores based in Chicago....top quality. So, they win a bid from Wal-Mart, and supply them. Next year comes around, and Piillotex gets more business...much more. Wal-Mart starts giving the. Static. Wal-Mart wanted them to only supply them. Eventually, 95 % of their business was Wal-Mart..business was fantastic...then Wal-Mart demands they cut prices 10%... Pillotex. Hold them NO, as they were only making 18%, but the sheer volume made it work. So, Wal-Mart broke the contract, Pillowtex couldn't get their past customers back fast enough, so, Pillotex, maker of fine quality bath linens, went bankrupt. ASSHOLE MANAGEMENT AT WAL-MART HQ SET UP A COMPANY, THEN DESTROYED IT BY ACTING LIKE A BUNCH OF DICKHEADS!! AND SEVWRAL COMPANIES GAVE BEEN DESTROYED BY WAL-FUCK.

"Kettensäge" is German for "Chainsaw". You have the China equivalent of the Husq, but that's not a bad thing. My generator is the China equivalent of a Honda, and it runs like a top. For less than a quarter of the price of the Husq, if you get 2 years out of this you'll be well money ahead. Of course it all depends how much you use it; if this is going to be used every day for long hours then the real deal would have been better. For just a weekend project every once and again this will be great. If you think about it, the chain saw you got was so de-branded, it was one cheap sticker away from becoming Harbor Freight material. There are factories in China that make a lot of the same stuff for the big name brands, just with a different decal set or paint job. I've been threatening to make a video about that for several months now but just haven't gotten around to it yet.
@Lanninglongarmmowing
@Lanninglongarmmowing 8 жыл бұрын
I wondered if that might be German. I don't know any other languages other than English and maybe a few words in Spanish. Come to think of it there was no place that said where it was made. I just assumed it was Chinese because the sellers name was sanghoezagbafksksgrkesojdnskerbgjfosos. lol. That's not the real name but it was super long. If you make that video you might get some nasty replys from a lot of people. Thanks for watching.
@Lanninglongarmmowing
@Lanninglongarmmowing 8 жыл бұрын
Heck the bar and chain are probably worth new about $45 maybe? I got the whole thing for a little more. Ive had so much good luck with harbor freight stuff (knock on wood) that I figured I'd give this a try.
@jaykay18
@jaykay18 8 жыл бұрын
Love2boat92 I unfortunately know a couple words of Spanish also. I can dabble in French and Yiddish un poco. I guarantee you the chainsaw was from China, regardless of the seller's name. It's big industry over there. I've watched several documentaries on it, quite interesting. Those who work in factories make tons of money (which is only a few cents an hour), but it's more than it pays to be a farmer. So you can live with deplorable conditions and work with harmful chemicals all day (with probably little or no protection), and be paid "handsomely", or make less, much less, being a farmer. And the shores of China are so polluted, it makes the shores here, even the worst ones, look like paradise. (Joke: Could you imagine being on the shore in China and all kinds of big screen TVs keep washing up!) Knockoff stuff is great if you know what you're buying, and what you're buying it for. I just wish for a lot of stuff, if you "pay up" for a name brand, you'd actually get quality, but it doesn't seem to work that way anymore.
@Lanninglongarmmowing
@Lanninglongarmmowing 8 жыл бұрын
jaykay18 Yeah that's one thing I'm supporting is the Chinese to be treating the environment and people badly. That would really be something to see tvs wash up on shore. Lol. I wish that would happen a lot more, if you pay more money you should get something better. Like dewalt impact sockets vs harbor freight impact sockets. There's probably not much difference between them except the name. A socket is a socket is a socket. Whether it says snap on (snap-off lol) dewalt Milwaukee, harbor freight etc. They all do the same thing and are probably made very similarly.

The best chainsaws leak oil. I have had husqvarna's that where really bad starters and stihl's that have gone for meltdown I think it's just luck if you get a good saw or not even the germans and swedish make rubbish saws sometimes it depends on who built it on the day. It could last you years if you maintain it use good oil plugs and that. Been doing forestry for 40 years and used the good the bad and the ugly. Had an husqvarna that I threw on a fire because it was total shit. Like the look of your saw hope it serves you well.

I have to say to all the people ripping on these cheap chainsaws that it make more sense for someone that is going to use a saw once every couple of years to trim trees or clean up storm damage to buy a cheap saw than a $800 name brand saw. That being said I do understand and appreciate the evils of stealing intellectual property.

This is a great video! About me, I'm older than your grandfather, I own a Maul 2 man, a mongery ward gear drive saw, gave away a wright to a good friend, collector. I hadba dol mar in the '60s my aunt worked at mono products, so we had mono's owned At least 3 xl 12's, bought a homlite top handle, 14"bar, changed to a Stilh 18" Bad and chains, gave it to a friend, he still uses it. Bought some Poulin pro's, a relation kind of thing. I have a huskie 450 14 bar, Jonsred 28" bar, stihl 25"bar, im just a home owner who was told to buy commercial quality at the start wow 25 to 1 fuel, should smoke like a Johnnie popper, use synthic oil. I built and raced m/c, don't let saw break in idling, rings seat by working against the cylinder walls. My son has used a number of shindiwa products. My limbing saw is an 80 volt kobalt dae eith a 12 inch bar instead of the standard 18. Use good bar oil, keep it set hi. Please do follow up posts as saw ages. Once again, a great video.

Jack Hembree Theres more videos of the saw on my channel The links should be in the description and in cards in the video. Thank you. We have an old homelite xl-12 and it's a tank. Sounds like you know a lot about chainsaws from having so many of them. I switched the fuel mixture to 37 or 40 to 1 now and it doesn't smoke so much. I figured since it's a new engine I'd take it easy on it by letting it run thru an entire tank of fuel since that's what some manufactures say to do with 4 stroke engines. I figured a 2 stroke would be the same. It didn't ruin the saw letting it idle thru an entire tank of gas like a lot of other people said it would. Thanks for watching!!

Well done. Id like to start off by saying that your review was very thorough. I'm currently considering buying a chainsaw and chose to watch your video. If all reviews on you tube were as thorough as yours, there would be a lot more informed people out there. Secondly, I wouldn't pay attention to dumb uninformed negative people, unfortunately we all can't get rid of them! Thirdly, don't be offended if someone gives you some advice on safety. I'm a OH&S rep at work and you can certainly never be too safe especially working with dangerous equipment like a chain saw. I think I'm going to seek out this product to purchase because you have convinced me. Well done!!!

Andrew John Rizzo yes you CAN be too “safe.” Safety to a point that work ceases or slows to a point of negative return is, of and in itself unsafe. This happens when “safety” becomes a political or public affair event or showing. I’ll give you a classic example, fuel containers made “safer” by politicians implementing laws to prevent pressure build up inside the containers and to prevent spillage of fuel while in the process of refueling. Every new plastic fuel container now comes with a “safer” fueling nozzle, which now doesn’t allow the container to breathe at all and they swell up with pressure, and they don’t flow properly, which leads to the end user defeating the crappy unsafe unacceptable design to make it work properly. REAL safety is good. But too much “safety” in the name of safety, which accomplishes nothing to truly affect safety, but only creates a bullet point on someone’s annual review or makes a politician look good in public isn’t REAL safety.

Looks like a replica of a Echo Timberwolf. You can't deny the saw cuts really well. I like how all of these people are badmouthing your Chinese saw, yet, Stihl's and Husky's aren't American Either. Thank you! That is very possible. I found out after I made the video its the same as a blue max saw and a husqvarna 55. I was even surprised how well it has done. There sure has been a lot of people that don't like it. The video has been posted to a few chainsaw groups and pages too. I don't know what else to do with the saw to show them how good it cuts. It amazes me how critical people can be on youtube. I wonder what they would have said if I said I paid $500 for it. lol. I wouldn't care if the hundred dollars was in a 100 dollar bill 50's, 20's, 10's, 5's or even 1's. A hundred dollars is a hundred dollars no matter how it's given. +Love2boat92 Vibration white finger takes a long time to develop and even longer to notice and it comes from extended use of tools that vibrate, it can happen with a genuine husqy or stihl fairly easily imagine how easy it'll happen with a clone saw that has inferior materials. Also a visor is still a good idea because it protects your whole face and a helmet to prevent falling thing hurting you.

Try to start. Immediately after removing the spark plug and notice how it is. 1. If it is wet, turn the saw upside down and pull the cord. If liquid leaks from the engine through the spark plug housing then the engine is drowned. It must be insisted with the twine in the same position until it does not drip. Also the spark plug is wiped well. It is mounted again and the next start is without shock. 2. If the spark plug is dry then insert 1ml of fuel into the cylinder, immediately install the spark plug and everything in place, start without shock. 3. Ask a Stihl representative for the first start-up and fully approve the start-up and safety procedures (it is their obligation to prove that they have sold a product that corresponds to the description since you could not start it). Good luck!

I had the same problem and I'm sure alot of other ms250 owners have this problem! First gas with ethanol is a kiiler, my problem was pretty much a new carburetor replacement and adjusted. Piston is getting a little scored. I originally brought it to the repair shop, they told me it was shot not repairable! What a joke worked on it for s but still running 2 yrs later and I cut a alot of wood. But honestly its just a name, go with what works and is reliable. Stihl ms 250 is the most troublesome saw I have ever owned.
