Love both videos! I'm an over analyser and heavy breather. I'm also an "always hot"/under-dresser, and will wear a vest top and shorts in the middle of winter and make everyone else feel cold, always dramatically wiping my forehead and pouring water over my head while running even when it's under 15 degrees C and love running in the snow. Another type is the "grimacing runner" who always appears to be in terrible pain/discomfort but assures everyone they love running. Another type is the event lover, who will make sure to attend every race they can possibly access, and even go to Parkrun first too on the same day.

Don’t want a big medal for tying my shoelaces. 😆 I’ve accidentally taken loose change on a marathon, a couple of times. It gets discarded in the first charity bucket I pass. I am a down-player about being passed! I'm also a type you didn't mention: the excuser (mainly to myself). First of all I do the down-playing if I can't keep up with an overtaker, then I start on the excuses : I am older/shorter/female/tired/hungry, etc. Of course, if none of the excuses apply, then we were running for different reasons! There's always some excuse that works.

The Judgy-Judge. This is a runner who has an impressive average pace and considers slower runners unworthy of their company. Thankfully, this type of runner is uncommon (I’ve only met two in ten years), as members of the running community are supportive and inspiring toward each other!

Depends on the situation, but it is understandable if a faster runner would like to train alone, as running too slowly will not really improve their fitness. They should be nice about it though and not downplay your ability

It's not necessarily that they're judging. Personally I tend to average around 6:30-7:30 pace on a long run depending on a variety of factors, if you asked me to come with you averaging 9 minutes per mile I'd say no because that pace wouldn't benefit me personally. Likewise if someone wanted me to come with them averaging 5:30 pace I'd say no as it's too hard :-(

I used to run in downtown on my lunch hour. I went to the YMCA where I was given a locker key on a safety pin with a brass tag. I would pin that to my shorts when I ran. Due to the city noise as I ran up behind a pedestrian on the sidewalk they would hear the jangle of key on tag and the panting breathing and turn around afraid a big dog was catching up to them.

I do use other runners as pace setters, occasionally I don't think that I sit on their shoulders, heavy breathing though. 😁

I'm definitely the heavy breather with headphones on! At Least my heavy breathing has a rythum though. I can't stand runners who come past you grunting like they're about to take their last breath, with their arms and elbows waving around! Or those who run past you and then come back in like right in front of you.. like to the point where I have to mot trip them up.

Ooh I just thought of one. I’m a high fiver, (in races only obviously). I love to get into the atmosphere I’m usually alone when running so I like to high five the volunteers. I remember my first volunteering I got such a sweaty high five from a runner it was like I was sweating myself 😂

I’m the extreme sweater. Even after a five minute slow run, I’ll come back looking like I just went running in a downpour. Of course, the fact that I live in central Florida doesn’t help. It’s so bad that I carry water even though I don’t really run far yet.

I'm a super salty sweater wich means I'll feel like hell if I don't replinish my electrolytes my mom doesn't sweat at all which means she ends up overheating and looking like a tomato that's about to faint on race day.

I'm definitely the one who hangs a couple of yards behind someone else at Parkrun. Then tries to sprint past them in the final 100 metres
