I have been waiting for Sphere of Influence for a long time, but it's FINALLY here, and brings so much juicyness to Victoria 3! In this video, I guide you through all of the major innovations and new mechanics in Victoria 3 Sphere of Influence, and tell you exactly why I've loved my time with it so far.
With entirely new Power Blocs, foreign investment systems, lobbies, leverage, and a complete revamp of the construction and internal investment systems, Sphere of Influence has made Victoria 3 the best it's ever been, and absolutely worth a play if you wanna jump back in, or if you've been waiting for a good time to finally do so.

@@AndysParadox Fr. I haven’t even played EU4 in 5+ years but I still listen to its soundtrack and recently learned how to play some of it on guitar (with accompanying piano).

Cool ! The new mechanic solve my issue to game in many ways … for example foreign investment… sometimes I just don’t want to conquer to get resources, and incur infamy, just make trade bloc, then improve inviting as many as you can .

You don't get the resources. You just generate money, when you do investments.

I hope you could help me. As a fellow Norwegian, I would really enjoy learning Norway in Vicky 3. However, even still there are barely any guides on the internett, and so my runs always end after 10-20 years. Youve played Norway in the background of many videoes, is it possible to get an aproximation of your strategy?

My fellow Norwegian! My strategy was to focus military technology, build up the army as much as possible, try to become relatively self-sufficient (difficult, but focus first on building farms etc to feed your people for a higher standard of living, plus they dont take that long to build). Then once war with Sweden breaks out, defend as much as you can in the mountains, do not go on the offensive until you've depleted the Swedes' morale/supply/reinforcement. Defending those mountains is the key!

Am I missing something about the game? I have never played Victoria 3, although I hope to soon be able to do so. In my view, my strategy would simply be to have great relations with all other powers, focus on a buoyant economy by going into industries where there is a lot of global demand as opposed to a strategy of self sufficiency, and lastly focus on military strength by being one of the foremost nations in military technology. Does this strategy not work?

@@David-io9lpthe AI in this patch is pretty aggressive, they will sniff out weaknesses and exploit it. I was playing tall as Prussia and I was trying to pass a law that angered the landowners, who had no army. But then Austria backed them and I had to defend against one of the greatest military power in the world at that time and lost the game

The UI in this game at the moment is absolutely awful. Pop ups everywhere and you feel like you aren't in control of anything. Compared to EU4 and HOI4, which have almost perfect UI's, this game has a long way to go and I have no doubt it will improve.

I agree, I've noticed how bad the UI is once I've realized that I'm more excited on UI and UX updates than most other things
