The Last Jedi killed the movies for a lot of people. The Mandalorian renewed interest and showed potential, but ultimately it, too, went the way of "woke". It's safe to say that Star Wars is "dead" to most of the original fan base. At this point, Disney knows that--is even counting on it--as they push forward with their plan to "reinvent" Star Wars for an audience that doesn't exist. Can't wait to see them lose another billion dollars on this absurd blunder. Imagine having two of the world's most popular IP's (Star Wars and Marvel) and absolutely ruining BOTH of them in a matter of a few years. That takes determination. It can't be just incompetence and stupidity; there's something else at work.

I can see them giving Yoda a full name and revealing his species and planet. They don't give a flying fuck about respecting what came before or respecting George Lucas wishes to keep Yoda a mystery.

There are no fans left. Just good people with happy childhoods being told they need to shame purchase broken things.

I checked out in The Last Jedi. Somewhere between Leia's magic space flight, Holdo's idiotic handling of Poe, the criminal waste of Finn and Phasma's potential, the complete and utter destruction and defilement of Luke's character, the Twilight level tween angst of ReyLo, the explicit FUCK YOU to fans of the original series with the whole "kill the past" bullshit, and the thematic whiplash of Rose preventing Finn from doing something meaningful via self sacrifice (we don't win by sacrficing the things we love) followed immediately by having Luke sacrifice himself to do fuck all (but I suppose we don't love Luke so it's fine) I just kinda felt like new Star Wars just wasn't meant for me.

I checked out when I reallized how TFA was just a blatant plagiarism of A New Hope.

I quit Star Wars & Disney right after the Wokeness Awakens. At this point if your paying for Disney+ or supporting Disney at any level than your part of the problem.

The point where I completely lost interest was when they cut snoke in half.

It started with Kenobi but, Mando S3 broke me. Din’s character arc to go from foundling to Mand’alor being dropped to make him a side character in favor of Bo-Katan, easily the most divisive Mandalorian in SW.

The kids that group on Clone Wars were the last group of fans they ran off. There are no more fans.

TLJ was the movie that broke my wife and I. As we walked away from the theater, my wife turned to me and said, "That was not Star Wars."

TLJ made me realize Disney and this LF didn’t care. Mando 1 and 2 gave me some hope. Then Kenobi and Boba completely killed my confidence in Disney LF. They killed Star Wars twice.

For me it was scrapping Thrawn trilogy and not adapting it to the sequel trilogy. That was it.

I remember walking out the cinema after watching TLJ and feeling embarrassed to wear a Star Wars t-shirt in public. Started selling my collection of figures not long after that.

Honestly, George Lucas really dropped the ball with Yoda in the prequels. Having Yoda whip out a lightsaber and start swinging it around was just absurd. The whole point of Yoda was that "size matters not." He didn't need a fancy sword because the Force was his ultimate weapon. Turning him into a pint-sized Jedi ninja completely missed the mark. It was like turning Gandhi into a cage fighter. Come on, Lucas, you had one job: keep Yoda the wise, Force-wielding sage we all loved, not some acrobatic warrior.

Gave up on SW when I heard how bad TLJ was, refused to watch it or any SW since. Gave up on Star Trek with STD, refused to even watch it.

I quit when Han asked where Luke’s lightsaber was found only to be told, “That’s a story for another time.” NO! That’s a story for RIGHT NOW.

For me it was either when Han was stabbed with no reunion between Han, Luke and Leia or when old Luke tossed the light saber over his shoulder in TLJ. Yes I watched it, I was fooled by the force awakens like many others. It was like order 66 in real life.

TLJ by itself is half baked and mediocre and I could’ve moved past it just like I did the prequels, but the straw that broke me was the weeks that followed where Rian Johnson went perpetually online to bash anybody who didn’t like his “masterpiece” as an -ist or -phobe and Iger/Kennedy supported his behavior. That’s when I realize that not only Star Wars but everything Disney owned was heading to ruin.

I honestly can’t remember the moment but I can recall the realization that it was completely done. When grogu went back to the mandalorian. That was the point of no return and when I canceled everything Disney related. I never fell into the age of disliking any of George’s films I was in my mid twenties when episode one came out so I love the prequels and the original 3. I create Star Wars related content so for me the joy of Georges Star Wars is in the memories, stories and films I recreate with my hands. One regret is not seeing George’s vision completed. Darth tallon, the rebirth of the Jedi order and the original cast brought back together in what would have been nothing short of amazing.

I'll put my money on the jedi being portrayed as the bad guys all along in some way.

After the insulting Last Jedi I only gave Disney Star war a second chance was because of the first 2 seasons of the Mandalarion. Unfortunately Disney made either disappointing shows or down right terrible shows after said show so when Ashoka finally came out it being so stupid written it destroyed any hope for me that star wars could be saved at that point.

I checked out, truthfully, with TFA. The moment it established Han and Chewie, SOMEHOW lost or had the Falcon taken from them. The remaining acts of TFA and then TLJ just added further insult. I refused to see Soywalker.

The only 7 movies in SW that matter are the OT, PT, and Rogue One.

The Last Jedi, characters surviving lightsaber stabs, and finding out about the world between worlds did it for me. It was all too much. Aside from the Mandalorian, Disney has destroyed Star Wars. It's very sad. Disney should have built upon what George Lucas created.

Back awhile when Acolyte was first having production issues they were going to retcon the "chosen one" prophecy that was in the original 3 movies to be a false prophecy to hide some sort of Force God reborn. The Force God is supposed to be a character from this show. Making George's entire series 1-6, to be based around a prophecy that's completely bogus. Meaning everything pre-Disney was pointless and a waste of time and energy for all involved. This is most likely what that comment is refering to. Throwing everything the orginal fandom loved in the trash and setting it on fire.

I didn't see Last Jedi in the theater. I've caught glimpses of it but never watched it as I'd been forewarned. I watched some of the series starting with Mandalorian with diminishing returns and Book of Boba Fett which was so meh, I haven't watched anything else. Secret Wars was so bad for so many reasons I stopped watching after episode 2. This kind of thing is my jam. Think about how bad it must be to turn off a super fan like myself. Now there is only Schadenfreude remaining. Can't wait to hear the Acolyte getting pounded.

I gave up after TFA, which should now be titled "The Force Is Dead". I turned back in temporarily with the first two seasons of "The Mandalorian", but most of that was okay, but not amazing. Disney's Alternative Universe SW needs to be put into the "Legacy" category and reinstate the proper original Expanded Universe. Can you imagine the amount of films, shows, etc. that could have been made from the timeline alone, and without the DEI elements?
