So glad that, as Amandala herself has said, the show was written around her. Why? She “acts” both parts exactly the same. It’s just Amandala saying lines as Amandala no matter which sister she’s supposed to be at the moment. She did more acting in her silly “diss-track” than she’s done in the entirety of this show. I’m not usually one to complain much about the actors, even in a bad show. It’s generally my opinion that, good or bad show, their just doing their job. But in this case I’m confounded. Why was this role written specifically for her? She doesn’t give either sister any nuance, any character, anything at all to distinguish them even subtly. I just don’t understand.

I'm genuinely-surprised that the weird helmet-person didn't turn out to be one of the moms, who mysteriously, miraculously survived The Big Sleep, but like maybe her face & mind were all messed-up from the fire, like "House of Wax" (hence the need to keep the face covered.) Hell, as hackneyed & cliched as that sounds, at least it would've given a reason for the helmet-thing in the first place.

Just because episode 5 has some lightsabers then it becomes good. Then episode 6 will have all the starships fighting each other, then it will be classic. How about episode7 where the sith vs the jedi counsel then it will be the best. and finally episode 8, yoda appears for 1 secs, then it will be extra-ordinary and world will praise disney. People just get into nostalgia and forgets the movie is so bad just because of lightsabers fighting?

I was in the minority and actually thought the series wasn't all that bad, but episode 5 changed all that. I had been aching to see some actual lightsaber duels, but when they came they went for quantity over quality, and the reveal in this episode was honestly groan inducing. I really hoped they were going to do something other than the patently obvious with the reveal of the red light saber dude, but no, it was the dude who EVERYONE knew it was going to be AND he was a Sith, which I also thought was boring. Do all force users need to be Sith or Jedi ffs? Now the only real reveal left is that the Jedi killed the witches, which has been constantly hinted at, but I had been hoping was deliberate to throw us off. But I feel that I've been giving this show to much credit all along. It's just not clever enough to deliver a genuine twist.

Right from the jump, the question wasn’t if Discount Miller was a sith, but rather or not Disney was smart enough to throw a curveball like him being the real acolyte over Mae and have her incompetence be intentional, or if they just, went with the blatantly telegraphed from jump option.

The last Star Wars I dared to watch was the Mandalorian and that kind of fell apart for me towards the end of Season 2, as I recall.....

I haven't watched The Acolyte and I have heard baseless rumours including everybody talking about the plot to the point... such a disappointment.

Your review is pretty spot on. The dialog is bad. The lightsaber fight was decent. A change of pace, but it just doesn't make up for the god awful bad plot and forced dialog.

Darth Dipstick says he won't remove his helmet because he doesn't want his mind read... but Yord said that (with the helmet on) he gets in your head and stays there. So Darth Dipstick has discovered one way force blocking helmet material that ALSO stops light sabers and in some cases shorts them out for... time... but can be easily broken by hitting it with the butt of a lightsaber. STOPS LIGHTSABERS, but falls apart when a 13 year old girl bashes it with what is essentially a stick. Jeeeez this show is stupid.
